Quote:

Frodo Baggins was the only child of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck, born on September 22, 2968 III. At the age of twelve he lost both his parents, and moved in with his mothers family in Brandy Hall. He lived with the Brandybucks for nine years, before his cousin Bilbo adopted him as his heir.
Frodo moved to Hobbiton to live with Bilbo in Bag End. Bilbo was considered to be a bit queer, mostly because of his adventure with the Dwarves, and it was also rumoured that Frodo and Bilbo met with elves in the woods. Still, a hobbit of the Baggins-family was a respected hobbit.
When Bilbo left the Shire in 3001 III, his estates, along with his magic ring, was inherited by Frodo, who kept them for seventeen years. When Gandalf returned to Hobbiton the year Frodo turned fifty, he told that the old magic ring really was the One Ring, the one holding all of Saurons power.
Frodo sold Bag End to the Sackville-Bagginses, and together with his gardener Samwise, he left for Crickhollow, where he had bought a small Hobbit-hole. On the way they met Gildor Inglorian, who let them stay with the elves and told him some of what was going on in other places of Middle-earth.
Waiting for them in Crickhollow was Meriadock, Peregrin and Fredegar. Fredegar stayed in Crickhollow to make people believe Frodo still lived there, while Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam set off to Bree. Twice they were saved by Tom Bombadil, and he gave them advice and directions. Arriving at the Prancing Pony in Bree, Frodo and his companions expected to meet Gandalf, but all they got was a letter. In the letter the wizard adviced them to trust a Ranger named Strider to lead them to Rivendell.
At Weathertop a Nazgl attacked them, and Frodo was stabbed in the shoulder. With the help of Strider and Glorfindel of Rivendell, he survived long enough to be taken to Rivendell and be healed by Elrond.
Once Frodo was well, the Council of Elrond was held and Frodo volunteered to take the Ring to Mordor. With him went eight companions. Before leaving, Frodo received the blade Sting and a Mithril shirt from his cousin Bilbo, who now lived in Rivendell. The Fellowship travelled through the Mines of Moria, where Gandalf fell, and through Lothlrien where Frodo received the Light of Erendil.
At Path Galen, the Fellowship was broken, and Frodo and Sam continued to Mordor alone. Following them was the creature Gollum, but he was captured by the hobbits and became their guide. He led them to Crirth Ungol, where Frodo was attacked by the giant spider Shelob and taken by orcs. Sam kept the ring safe and rescued Frodo, and they made it to the Cracks of Doom. Here, Frodo refused to throw in the Ring and put it on his finger, was attacked by Gollum. Desperate to get his precious back, he bit of Frodos finger and took the Ring.
Gollum fell of the edge and into the fire, taking the One Ring with him and destroying it forever. Frodo and Sam were rescued by Gandalf and the eagles, and were taken back to Gondor where they were healed. Returning to the Shire, he stayed with Sam and Rosie in Bag End for four years, before sailing to the Undying Lands with the other Ringbearers on September 29, 3021 III.
