"FK. Sloboda meaning Freedom in Bosnian was established in 1919 as a recreational club. It was named Sloboda (Freedom) after Bosnia got independece from the Austro-Hungarian empire. A soccer team was formed 2 years later and Sloboda as a club played its first game in 1921. The team fought its way for many years and in the mid 60's finally made the Yugoslav national league which was one of the strongest in Europe, only to get knocked out again the same year. The following year Sloboda came back more powerfull than ever with a team of youngsters who were going to be the greatest dynasty of Sloboda. They entered the Yugoslav national league and that year ended up on the bottom of the table but hung on in the national. For a few years the boys from Tuzla battled in the league and in 1969 finished 2nd in the Yugoslav league behind the powerfull Fk.partizan who were european champions several times. Sloboda was draw in the UEFA cup only to go down to a very strong opponent, Las Palmas who that same year went on to claim 3rd in the UEFA cup. Sloboda lost in Las Palmas a shockin 6-1 but were able to cut back the dephisite to 8-4 when they won at home 3-2. All in all it was a experience which the fans of Sloboda never forgot. After this season great european teams such as Paris Sain Germain and Athletico Madrid, and Fehnerbahce bought 7 of the starting 11 players amongst them selves. This weakened the Sloboda squad but richened the club as well.

HISTORY OF CLUB
The club never liked to import players and always let young Tuzla and suroundings players tear up the field wearing very proudly the Red-Black jerseys.
The 1967-1975 was the Highlight of the Club when it finished 3 times in the top 6 in the Yugoslav league. The team continued to compete in the yugoslav national league and were never dropped from there until they pulled out just like the rest of the Bosnian teams during the agression on Bosnia by the Serbs. In 1995 a cup was organised between 6 clubs in Bosnia and Sloboda finished 4th. That same year Sloboda played in the first season of the Premier league of Bosnia. In 1994-1995 season Sloboda finished 3rd, in 1995-1996 4th, 1996-1997 5th, 1997-1998 5th, 1998-1999 5th, 1999-2000 8th. It has been downhill since 1994. this was made up for by becoming runners up in Bosnian Cup 3 times. The last was in the 1999-2000 season when Sloboda went down to Zeljeznicar 3-1 in Sarajevo.".
