Anton died from convulsions as an infant.

After their marriage Ephriam worked as a butcher shop manager in Mandan, ND. After Mary died he moved to Seattle, WA. where he sold cars, until his death.

Barbara SCHWARTZENBERGER and Rochus (Roy) BITZ

Barbara SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Napoleon, ND the 21 January 1906, died in Spokane, WA the 27 February 1983, married Rochus (Roy) BITZ, the 23 October 1923 in Timber Lake, ND (born the 30 June 1898 and died the 6 May 1960 in Spokane, WA).

In April 1943 Barbara and Roy moved to Spokane, WA. and bought a large house at 229 E. Augusta. Barbara opened several boarding houses and followed the post WWI construction boom in the northwest. She also ran and operated 3 different restaurants in the northwest. In 1959 she began having serious colon problems and in 1960 underwent iliostomy. Until her death she operated her home on Augusta as an apartment and boarding house.

Kathryn SCHWARTZENBERGER and Victor Rail ADAMS

Kathryn SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Napoleon, ND the 11 February 1907, married Victor Rail ADAMS, the 16 February 1926 in Linton, ND (born the 18 September 1898 in Redfield, ND and died the 5 December 1971 in Bismarck, ND).

Kathryn worked as a cook in 2 schools in Mandan, ND. before retiring to Spokane, WA. In 1995 she moved to Tacoma, WA. to be near her daughter Lil, and her grandchildren.

Thomas SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Napoleon, ND the 16 July 1908, died in Spokane, WA the 3 March 1994, married Julia (Judy) WALTOS, the 27 January 1934 in Bismarck, ND (born the 21 June 1915 in Huff, ND and died the 11 May 1993 in Spokane, WA).

Tom worked as a master cement finisher until he broke his leg, (3 different times) and his hip, forcing him to retire. Tom and Judy really enjoyed the annual cousin's picnics, held in the northwest area.

In 1936 Joe and Anne moved to Salem, OR. where he drove a dairy truck until WWII broke out. He then worked for the government at Umatilla, OR, and later at Hanford, WA. When they divorced Joe opened a tavern in Hoquiam, WA. and later a restaurant in Milton, WA. He moved to Renton, WA. where he worked as a machinist until his retirement.

Margaretha (Margie) SCHWARTZENBERGER and Curtis James GRAVLEY

Margaretha (Margie) SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Napoleon, ND the 20 May 1911, Housewife, died in Spokane, WA the 6 February 1995. She married Curtis James GRAVLEY, the 10 October 1936 in Livingston, Park County, MT (Curt born the 26 June 1906 in Fish Creek Stage Station, MT and died the 1 September 1967 in Spokane, WA, son of James Marion GRAVLEY and Sylvia Geneva BRUFFEY).

In 1932 Margie worked at the Sweet Shop In Bismarck, ND, where she dated the cook, William SHOERER. She later discovered he was married, but was pregnant. A short time later she met Elmer JOHNSON and after her son Edward was born they moved to a cabin at Wildwood Lake, where her 2nd son John was conceived. In 1935 she moved to Livingston, MT. where she met and married Curt GRAVLEY, and in the next few years 3 daughters were born. After WWII started the family moved to Spokane, WA. and Curt worked at Layrite Concrete until his retirement.

Veronica (Fronie) SCHWARTZENBERGER and Louis Achilles OGLESBY

Veronica (Fronie) SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Napoleon, ND the 5 October 1912, married Louis Achilles OGLESBY, the 29 August 1930 in BISMARCK, ND. (Louis born the 17 November 1903 in Evansville, IN and died the 16 December 1974 in Evansville, IN).

Fronie and Louis owned a truck farm near Evansville, IN. raising vegatables to sell at the Farmers Market in Evansville. After Louis died Fronie moved to Spokane, WA. for several years, then later moved back to Evansville.

Auto Repair Shop in Beverly Hills, CA, died in Salem, OR the 10 March 1990, married (1) Johneita Lee RHYNES, the 21 November 1938 in Livingston, MT (Johneita born in Oklahoma), (2) Irene SCHMIDT, the 1 June 1946 in Culver City, CA. (Irene born the 29 October 1921 in Mapleton, MN).

Dan and Johneita divorced 02/02/1943, at Culver City, CA.

Dan owned and operated an auto mechanic shop in Beverly Hills, Ca, until he retired. Dan and Irene then moved to Salem, Or, where he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and card playing. Irene worked many years for Lockheed Aircraft, then resigned to work with Dan in the auto shop. When they moved to Salem, she worked for a cannery until her retirement in 1983. Irene likes to design and build her own furniture, and she liked fishing with Dan.

Genevieve (Genny) SCHWARTZENBERGER and Stephen Raphael MOSSBRUCKER

Genevieve (Genny) SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Napoleon, ND the 11 November 1916, died in Salem, OR the 11 August 1992, married Stephen Raphael MOSSBRUCKER, the 15 May 1935 in Bismarck, ND. (Steve born the 2 December 1908 in Center, ND and died the 14 February 1970 in Salem, OR).

Gennie had been a homemaker most of her life, but during WWII she worked as a car-hop in Spokane, Wa. After Steve's death she worked in a cannery in Salem, Or, until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, writing friends and relatives, and being with her family. Steve was a cement finisher until he contracted cement poisoning, at which time he took up carpentry. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, and served as an usher for 19 years in his churce, at Salem. He liked hunting, fishing, dancing, and shuffleboard.

Shortly before her death Genny told her nephew Ed Gravley stories that her mother Marianne had told her as a child. Stories of life on the plains in South Russia. He wishes he had tape recorded these sessions, but will attempt to write them down for future use.

Bergetta (Betty) SCHWARTZENBERGER and Robert Peter PERRINE

Bergetta (Betty) SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Napoleon, ND the 22 July 1918, Waitress, died in Los Angeles, CA the 28 November 1968, married Robert Peter PERRINE, the 2 November 1936 in Livingston, MT. (Bob born the 5 July 1913 in Montana).

Betty started this family history, by keeping records of all births she learned of. A lot of this data is the results of her efforts. She worked most of her life as a waitress, first in Bismarck, then Spokane, Los Angeles, and then Froid, Mt.

Bob Perrine and Curt Gravley were best friends, and he introduced Curt to Margaret Schwartzenberger, and later they both married the sisters. Betty loved children and they adored her.

Francis SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Timber Lake, ND the 8 August 1920, Auto Mech., died in Spokane, WA the 1 June 1975, married Rachael Bryant BALLAS, the 28 April 1973 in Spokane, WA. (Rachael born the 13 December 1922 in Billings, MT).

Frank worked many years for his brother Dan as an auto mechanic. Later he moved to Spokane, WA. where he continued this work until his death.

Mathias (Matt) SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Strasburg, ND the 25 November 1921, Building Contractor, died in Seattle, WA. the 21 June 1992, married Olive (Ollie) BOCK, the 23 June 1946 in Spokane, WA. (Ollie born the 26 May 1924 in Spokane, WA).

Matt and Ollie divorced unknown date in Seattle, WA. Matt has been a carpenter and building contractor all his life, and has always lent these skills to anyone in the family who needed them. He had a special way with kids and they all loved him dearly. He liked watching TV sports, bowling, dancing, and camping. Ollie worked as a councilor for Fircrest School for the Mentally Retarded, in Seattle, Wa, since 1969. She retired from there in 1986. She loves horses and owns her own mini-ranch in the hills above Snohomish, Wa. She also likes playing guitar, and entertaining friends and family. Ollie is a talented artist with water colors, and has many paintings judged at Frye Museum, In Seattle.

Wilhelm (Bill) SCHWARTZENBERGER and Frances (Fran) GEIGER

Wilhelm (Bill) SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Timber Lake, ND the 2 June 1925, Hotel/ Apt. owner, died in Seattle, WA the 16 February 1980, married Frances GEIGER, the 4 February 1947 in Mandan, ND. (Fran born the 12 March 1924 in Harmon, ND).

Bill and Fran moved to Santa Barbara, CA., after their marriage, and lived there until they bought the Jitterbug Club in Osburn, Id. Several years later they sold the club and went to Anchorage, Alaska for several years, then moved to Renton, WA, where they bought a hotel. During the next few years they bought other apartment buildings and rental properties. Bill was a wheeler dealer, and Fran took care of the dealing. They both enjoyed TV, dancing, and being with family. Fran recently bought a beautiful cabin in the Cascade Mountains, co-owner with her sons. This cabin is in the small town where they filmed the TV Series, Northern Exposure.

Agatha (Aggie) SCHWARTZENBERGER, born in Timber Lake, SD the 24 October 1925, died in Newport, WA the 31 August 1984, married (1) Eugene HELBLING, the 16 July 1945 in Spokane, WA. (Gene born the 9 September 1925 in Unknown place, ND), (2) Pal WALLS, the 22 December 1951 in Superior, MT. (Pal born the 1 March 1925 in Idaho), (3) Wynn Bernard AGEE, the 13 August 1960 in Spokane, WA. (Wynn born the 22 August 1923 in Spokane, WA).

Aggie was the initial Schwartzenberger Family historian, starting this record in the mid 1970's, using the records of her late sister (Betty). Aggie was murdered when she accosted a night-time burglar in her restruant-resort.
