Tangerine Middle School is the public school for Tangerine. It is an old, three-story middle school. Paul transfers from Lake Windsor Middle School to Tangerine because of a sinkhole problem. Apparently, Lake Windsor was built on a sinkhole and collapsed.

Tangerine Middle School has an excellent soccer team, which placed second in the entire county the previous year. This is the main reason Paul moves to Tangerine Middle School, to play soccer. At his previous school, he was not eligible to play, so he found his opportunity here.

At Tangerine, the students are different from Lake Windsor students. At Lake Windsor, people looked at other students from the outside and Paul was considered a geek. Whereas, at Tangerine it was all about being connected. The students did not care what Paul looked like, his friends there respected him because he was a good soccer player and a good person in general.
