Mr. Fisher is Paul and Erik’s father. Mr. Fisher works for the Civil Engineering department of the local city government. This is ironic considering the condition of Lake Windsor Downs.

Mr. Fisher spends most of his time with Erik, promoting the "Erik Fisher Football Dream." He only pays attention to Erik, leaving Paul feeling very neglected. His main ambition is to get Erik to a major college on a football scholarship.

Mrs. Fisher gets very involved in this small community of Lake Windsor Downs, her job is with homeowners association. She is constantly trying to make everything seem perfect from the outside, for her everything is about appearance.

Although she too ignored Paul in the beginning of the book, she begins to be supportive of him and his dreams.

Throughout the story, we see her slowly begin grow. She begins to "see" things that she was blind to before.
