A discovery was made near the turn of this century that challenges one of the most widely accepted theories of cosmology.Evidence that would confirm an alternate threory was reported by Dr. Stacy McGaugh at the University of Maryland. His theory predicted a smaller second peak in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) power spectrum than expected with the "Dark Matter Theory." When the data were obtained and analyzed, the size of the second peak favored Dr. McGaugh's theory over the traditional theory of Dark Matter making up most of the universe.
