My interest in the New York World's Fair began when I was a child. I remember passing the abandoned fairgrounds on drives to La Guardia Airport and Shea Stadium and being overwhelmed by a sense of sadness as I glimpsed at the skeletal remains of the observation towers.
Very recently, I've started to wonder whether or not other Gen X'ers pine to visit a World's Fair? Do my own peers long to see, hear, smell and taste a World's Fair that exists outside of historical description?
