| New, Larger Church Built | ||||
| The year 1909 brought to the pastorate the Rev. E.L. Wells under whose leadership the church realized great growth. He was known as the church builder for with his guidance the old building was razed and on March 7, 1916, the present sanctuary was begun. The new church building was to be much larger than the old one and this meant that part of the cemetery would have to be moved. These loved ones were reinterred in Beaver Hill Cemetery. World War I slowed the building of the church but it was completed and dedicated free of debt, on June 27, 1920. An active Woman's Missionary Union has been part of the church program since 1903 contributing much to the missionary activities of the church. In 1926 Miss Ola Lea was sent as a missionary to China and the church supported her in the work for thirty-five years. |
