Ivette Sosa got her first taste of fame when she landed on The WB's Popstars:USA in 2001, which launched the girl group Eden's Crush. Nowadays, Sosa is focused on acting. She has landed her first film role in the comedy 'Chasing Papi.'
"[In 'Chasing Papi,'] I got to work with Roselyn Sanchez [Lorena; ex-Pilar, 'As The World Turns']. I play her assistant, Gloria. It was a wonderful first experience," enthuses Ivette Sosa, who has shifted her attention away from singing, at least for now. "I think the next time I go back to singing, I want to be able to write my own music and be in control of everything [and perform] something other than pop."

With a barrage of reality series hitting the air, Sosa offers this advice to would-be participants. "No. 1, make sure it's something you really want to do, and No. 2, just be yourself and realize that milliong of people will be watching this. So, if you're not comfortable with who you are and having people interpret what you say the wrong way, [think carefully] because it's a risk."

However, Sosa is satisfied with the way she came across on 'Popstars': "I was portrayed in a very good way and in a way I believe was true." For the most part, that is. "There were times when there would be trailers and they'd show me crying or something and they made it out to seem like I was crying about something totally different. I was like, 'That's not what it was about at all,' but [network] need to attract people for the next week. There were a couple of instances like that, but not so much where I'd have to sue anybody," she chuckles.

For those expecting reality TV to bring about stardom, Sosa cautions, "Honestly, I don't know if that's the best way to go. If the first impression [you make] is a tantrum on 'Survivor' or 'This is the guy who totally cheated on his girlfriend,'...people will always link you to that. Don't get me wrong, there are times that I audition for people who have seen the show and they're like, 'I really thought you were wonderful, you're just so sweet' and I appreciate that." However, she adds, "I think if you really take your craft seriously, there are so many other ways to get noticed than to eat worms."
