The
Runes Fall, and tell all......
This weeks column is a reading for the future
of Eden Falls itself.
The shocking and horrifying events of the
past few days has caused a great uneasiness to
spread throughout our normally placid and
friendly little town.
Or is Eden Falls really the peaceful,
pleasant place it appears to be?
What evils hide in the shadows?
What unknown Karma is at work here?
One thing is apparent…no one is
safe……….no one!
Madame decided to
implore the ancients to share their wisdom.
She consulted the ancient mystics who
communicate through use of the Rune,
which represent the oldest form of communication
known to man. All of the wisdom of the ages is
represented in the ancient symbols
The Jade Runes were chosen for
their association with determining the forces at
work in relationships between peoples. The Diamond
spread reveals the dynamic forces at work in a
situation. It is the spread of choice for
understanding a hidden conflict.
And it is surely apparent to everyone by
now that this little village is vibrating with
the sinister forces arising from hidden
conflicts.
Conflicts which threaten to boil over and
scald the town with the release of a century or
more of pent-up disharmony.
Madame shuffles the
Runes and lays them out in the chosen pattern.
What she sees does not bring peace of
mind. Instead of answering questions, many more
have arisen.
This is what was revealed by the Runes:
The bottom rune
represents the foundation forming the basis
of the issue. Tyr was the Norse god
of war. It was through his sacrifice that the
great force of chaos, the wolf Fenrir, was
bound. Here however, we have drawn the rune
reversed. This could mean that a sacrifice made
will not lead to the desired result. It could
also mean a loss, or a victory overturned. This
rune warns against entering into conflicts or
negotiations, especially ones requiring that an
offering or concession be made - the wolf might
take your hand and yet remain unbound. ( it
would seem that pleasing with the Angel to grant
you mercy is not a good idea…in fact it may be
that it merely draws the attention of the
hounds). Note also that Tyr was the god of law,
so there is a suggestion of a wrongdoer who will
avoid justice. ( this could mean that the
killers will remain at large, terrorizing the
good townspeople of Eden Falls until no one
remains to stand up to the evildoers.)
The left rune
represents one of the forces acting on the
issue at hand. Raido means to ride.
As such, Raido
may suggest a journey, but is much more
indicative of communication. Alternate
interpretations of Raido give it the meaning of
council, judgment, and moral correctness.
Therefore, this rune represents wise advice and
good leadership. Wise advice as from the
all-seeing Madame Royale?
Leadership from the illustrious Simone?
The right rune represents another
of the forces acting on the issue at hand. Isa
is the rune symbol for
Ice - cold, stagnant, frozen, and
unchanging. This rune suggests heat removed not
just from anger or conflict, but from passion as
well. Paradoxically, Isa conveys images of
slippery slopes and unsure footing, but also of
circumstances that have crystallized and become
utterly immutable. Be courageous, people of Eden
Falls, for you work against this element every
day. Will you fight alone or with others against
this, our common foe? Is there much worse to
happen?
