| Jean's mother appears to be quite pleased and proud of her 6th child. Of course, I'm prejudiced, but I think she was indeed a cute baby. The last name of the woman on the left was Kroutch, (spelling uncertain). No one seems to recall her first name. On the right is a woman only known as Ester. Her last name has been forgotten. The other womnan is unknown. Based on the appearance of their clothing and the setting, these are not well off people. I know Jean's family was not destitute as she was growing up. Nevertheless, it's obvious that there is much that they must have done without. Jean was born two days before me and our parents lived within a few blocks of each other. There is no evidence that the Yarnall and Hook families interacted in any significant manner. Still, I find it fascinating that we were close, in a manner, from the day we were born. I often find myself pondering the parallel nature of our lives and kind of contemporaneous experiences Jean may have had. |
