Kong Ling needs little or introduction to the S.E. Asian public. Her first LP "Hong Kong Presents Off-Beat Cha Cha" was a resounding success. King Ling then decided to cut a new album consisting of her favourite tunes and four numbers specially composed for her by Vic Cristobal. These are "Lost In A Dream", "Wishing", "Jilted" and "The Stars Are Filled With Bliss".
This LP effectively showcases her versatility. Kong Ling can be heard smoothly singing a ballad, exuberantly letting herself go to the rhythm of the cha cha or belting out a bluesy Julie London type number. There is no doubt that her six months stint with the Arthur Godfrey show has done her a tremendous amount of good, for she is now a polished performer. In fact, she has done well for herself in the United States too; Kong Ling has been recalled for a return engagement.
King Ling started singing in Singapore in 1954, and was in great demand when she returned to Hong Kong. She was the first singer to be featured in three separate night clubs every evening. This earned for her the nickname "Hong Kong Singing Sweetheart".
One evening while Kong Ling was singing in one of the more popular Kowloon night-spots, Arthur Godfrey dropped in. He was visibly impressed and there and then decided to sign Kong Ling to appear on his television series. To Kong Ling this a dream come true.
Kong Ling is single, twenty-six, charming and very eligible. Her lobbies include movies, dancing, records and sports cars. She would like to become a "very good singer and a very good wife".

VIC CRISTOBAL is one of the most talented arrangers to come our way. He is equally at home writing music for Oriental films, jazz numbers or ballads. As a musician, Vic is also infinitely versatile, and plays the piano, French horn, trumpet, accordion, vibes, glockenspiel, violin and various percussion instruments. Vic has lost count of the number of recording sessions he has "sat in" on, and thinks the total must be well over a thousand!!
