Dear Friends,
This record has a special significance for us. We call it 'ConQuests', because that is, what it represents - a victory, our victory, over the natural growing pains of group life. The end of the days when we arrived, nervous, hesitant, untried, and practically unknown in Hong Kong. A group on its first real engagement outside in Singapore home-base.
At our first show in Hong Kong, we were disappointed, bewildered and wondered whether the music we believed in really was right. Then the audiences stopped long enough to listen - and from listening, they went on to liking, then raving about it. And when it was time to leave, we felt as if we were putting aside a part of ourselves.
This is our first record in the 10 months that we have been away in Hong Kong. It is the result of the experiences we have had with both Singapore and Hong Kong audiences. We have tried to make it the sort of record you would like to have us cut. It is our way of saying 'Thank you' in music, for just being such wonderful friends to us. - THE QUESTS
