Season Finishes in nail biting climax
A final day victory in a winner takes all champions league showdown sees the mighty blues take fourth place in the premiership...
A wonderful atmosphere at the Bridge was matched by a gritt performance by the Blues..An early headed goal by Hyypia was quickly cancelled out by captain surpreme marcel desailly... And still in the first half Jesper Gronkjaer cut in onto his left foot and bent a great finish around dudek to send the blues into a lead which they held onto with almost ease..Despite liverpool having a goal disallowed after a clanger by Carlo Cudicini, Chelsea looked most likely to add to the scoring and Mario Melchiot came closest to doing that when his shot was pushed onto the post..the day was blue and the season was fniished on a high.
The Season starts to wind down as the race for the final champions league place hots up! At the moment we r fourth with a 4 point gap over everton who we play at home in two weeks! a win and we surely gurantee champions lague football for next year!! and thats where its at!!

Twice behind against leeds, an own goal wins in as we score two in three minutes. but goal of the day is first equaliser for gudjohnsen- a wonderful overhead kick from lampards cross. and lampard scored himself before shooting for matteo to put into his own net. 3-2 great stuff. luck changing!!

Good start to year continues with a 4-1 home win on sand against Charlton.But now there is doubt over the result. Charlton, despite being outplayed, lodge a complaint againt state of pitch and demand a replay. We await the result. Surely not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Third in the league behind United.

Hero to villain Baba sent off (albiet harshly) as chelsea rescue at 90th minute point at bolton through JFH but with others above losing and below winning 3 points would have been great in a decent performance but with ten men a point looked unlikey so is welcome but everton now above us in 3rd.
