JOE'S BIKES.  AN R6 AND AN R.7 YSR 50 RACE BIKE.  SETUP TO RACE SUPER SPORT CLASS.
COLOR SCHEME INSPIRED BY  NORYUKI HAGA'S WORLD SUPERBIKE R7
JOE'S YSR GOODIES
Initial cost of the bike $900.00. No title set up to race.
Initial problems: The engine leaked oil. The tank was dented. The
plastics were usable but they had been repaired over and over again with
bondo, staples and fiberglass that they were 3 times as heavy as stock
plastics and the stock plastics are heavy to begin with.

Cosmetics: I sanded the tank down to bare metal and bondoed the really
bad dents. I bought YSR50.com plastics $200.00+tax and shipping. I also
bought a zero gravity smoke screen. I spray painted it to look like
Noriuki Haga's 2000 R7 World Super Bike. Spray paint was about $30.00
and the stickers were around $40.00.

Engine & Suspension: I drove the bike down to Calamari and they set me
up ready to race for about $1200.00 give or take a hundred. You can see
the upgrades below. Some of the stuff already came with the bike so it
cost me a little less to get the bike set up but it still cost a lot of
money. I blew the motor up my first practice day because I didn't do the
premix correctly and that cost me another $500.00 to get fixed.

Upgrades:
Rebuilt Motor w/ new crank (balanced and welded)
Boysen reeds and jetting
Rt Fork Spring
Calamari Triple and Fork Brace
IRC 740 tires
Regina Gold Chain w/ 46 tooth rear sprocket
Stainless allen steel bolts for the motor.
Race and saftey wired.
Toomey pipe
Airbox mods
Ohlins Shock

Future Upgrades:
Fox Shock

Things I would do knowing what I know now.
1. I still would have Calamari do the rebuild. They're nice folks to
deal with. I wouldn't blow up a brand new motor.
2. I would buy shark skinz. YSR50.com plastics are cheap but more
brittle than shark skinz.
3. I would have the bike professionally painted. Probably in dark grey.
It hides road rash a lot better than white. The bike looks great now,
better than some of the other bikes I race against but a professionally
painted bike really looks trick.
