Oct 14th Trackday at PC
Jerry let us rent the track for the day and rode the Superbike for the 1st time. Just like I suspected  I had to constantly slip the clutch and feed lots of throttle to stay in the bike's powerband.  After figuring it out I was lapping the Esses faster than I could on my Supersport.  I also had trouble with the handling.  The front end is set taller than my SS.  It forced me to ride smoother.  I would've dropped the forks down  but the bike did not have setbacks.  I would've dragged my toes sliders.  When I get  setbacks I will try to set the suspension  similar to my SS.
Turn3.  My Superbike should be ready for Race 10.

Oct 27th Race #10
Turn1.  On my Superbike trying to scrub in my new tires.  The bike behind me proves to be my challenge in Super Sport today.  Read about it below.
I couldn't have asked for better weather to race.  It was a room temperature 72 degrees and sunny.  The only time I crashed was on the superbike during the first practice lap when I ran on fresh rubber.  On the first corner I laid it down.  I used it for both practices to take the nice shiny  stuff off the rubber.  So like I predicted I binned the blue bike once that weekend.

Today's track  setup was the
Esses and we ran 7 laps for the heats events and 9  laps for the main.   My brother and I entered in both Novice Supersport and Superbike.  Thinking back I wish we did Trophy Dash because there were only 4 riders who entered in that class.   We were pretty much running on par all day and we would've had some more fun dicing it up there.  We had a pretty full grid in Supersport with 11 and 13 in Superbike.  Too bad it wasn't like the beginning of last year when we had 22 enteries.

Supersport
Heat 1:   I was gridded in  3rd place and had a good start.  I was 2nd going into turn 1 but got  delegated to 3rd when Pat (#47) got me through the chicane.  He also got past Dave (#83) who's tail  I stayed on for the rest of the 7 laps.
Heat 2:   I was gridded in 9th and had another flying start.  I worked my way up the front straights and was in 5th going into turn 1.    Throughout this heat race my brother Joe (#48), Jason (#13) and I were bumper to bumper.  On lap 4, Jason take the inside line and passed Joe  between turns 8 and 9.  It slowed him down and I tried to capitalize on his misfortune between turns 9 and 10.  I didn't have enough room to pass and forced it though and bumped his ribcage with my elbow.  We almost crashed.  I ran off the track on the front straights.  I was off the track for about  4 bike lengths and safely got back on the track.   I thought Dave  was running closer to me, but luckily he was further back so I did not lose a spot.   On Lap 5 I fought my way back to my brother's tail and I got him on the front straights on lap 6  before turn 1.  I finshed in 4th.

Main:  I was gridded in 3rd position eventhough we lost our pole position rider Pat, who broke a collar bone in another event.  He definitely would've taken today's race because he was riding par with the advance racers.  At the start, Martin (#33) who started  2nd on the grid  and I go 1st and 2nd through turn 1.  I stay in 2nd until 8 laps into the race.  By Lap 6 Martin was gone.  He and Pat are running at the advance riders' pace so I already discounted the possibility of a 1st place finish today unless he crashed.  As I was heading on to the front straights I almost highside my back when the wheel went out from under me.  I was able to correct it and stayed in 2nd.   I couldn't even hear Jason behind me (on his stocker) as I was nursing my season and a half old tires.  I was focusing on keeping it on two wheels when Jason gets me between turns 8 and 9.  I stay on and place 3rd.
