| Gryphon Records began in 1997 as the result of two bands extremely pissed off at the major five record labels. Silver Bullet (from Niagara Falls) and Foot Stamp(from Toronto), had been trying to get their stuff heard by the labels for years. It just wasn't happening so we hooked up and Gryphon was born. After releasing our independant stuff, we decided we'd rather just focus on the label. Which brings us to present day. Gryphon Records releases mainly rock music. That's not to say we'd never release any other genre though. We try to make the music industry as easy as possible for our artists. It's our job. Our main concern is getting the artists known locally, then expanding into the wild unknown! |
