ECW World Television Title
DOUBLE JEAPORDY
Two different rivalries. Four different men. All over one title. Taz, Steve Austin, Triple H and The Sandman have all been at each other's throats over the past few weeks, with each men after the ECW World Television Title that is now resting on Helmsley's shoulder.
The bad blood between Steve Austin and Taz started roughly 3 weeks ago, as Austin and Taz did battle on Hardcore TV. Taz choked out the former WWE-superstar, enraging Austin. The next Hardcore TV, after Taz choked out The Manbeast Rhino, it was The Rattlesnake who jumped him, cracking a steel chair over the back of his skull. The feud was born, but it would get much nastier.
Taz would throw out a challenge to Austin to meet him at Heat Wave later on in the show, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, still wanting to taste revenge after being handed a defeat, agreed. After all, a win over Taz on an ECW pay-per-view would definitely get rid of that blemish on his impressive tenure in Extreme Championship Wrestling to date. In the Extreme Gauntlet on the last ECW on TNN leading up to Heat Wave, Steve Austin sent out a clear message to Taz- if you mess with a Rattlesnake, your ass is gonna get bit. Stone Cold wrapped Taz's head inside a steel chair, then took another one AND PILLMANIZED TAZ'S SKULL! Even the most hardcore wrestling fans had to wince as The One Man Crime Spree laid motionless on the mat.
But this Sunday at Heat Wave, it all comes to a front. In 1/2 of the Double Jeapordy match, The Human Suplex Machine can put Austin in his place, and maybe even go on to win the ECW World Television Title in the process, a title that Taz definitely has his eyes on. But for Steve Austin, it's an opportunity to remove the only single's match loss on his current tenure in ECW to date, and could be the first step into winning back his ECW World Television Title he lost just a week or two back.
But let's not forget about the man who holds the title, Triple H. While some consider his title reign to not be completely because of his talent, seeing how The Sandman went to cane him but missed and caught Taz between the eyes, the fans have despised 'The Game' even more. But without a doubt, Triple H has shown he has what it takes in the ring to hold the TV Title. His talent and all-out toughness will definitely be put to the test this Sunday though, as he goes head-to-head with perhaps ECW's most toughest superstar, the beer-swilling, chain-smoking Sandman! The two have been at each other for weeks, especially after Helmsley used The Sandman's OWN Singapore cane to snap it across the skull of The Hardcore Icon!
The Sandman has proved that he still has what it takes to be a champion in Extreme Championship Wrestling, and came within inches of dethroning Raven of his ECW World Heavyweight Title just a few days ago on TNN. Will The Sandman finally win the ECW World Television Title he has came so close to winning on numerous occasions? Will Triple H continue to be ECW World Television Champion, and leave with the victory over his rival? Find out this Sunday!
