As I watch

As loves last embers burn out,
As lifes last breath fades out,
As the days last light flickers and dies,
As the night comes now,
As the sky falls on us,
As the great buildings fall,
As society collapses,
As time stands still,
As the last drink is toasted,
As the ice man Cometh,
As the wind blows cold now,
As the mountains crumble to the sea,
As the moon spins away,
As the stars explode one by one,
As the fish jump,
As the horses run,
As man struggles against the world,
As the o-zone layer tears,
As the fires rage wild,
As the water surpasses,
As the ice cap melts,
As the green of land turns to charred remains,
As the terror grows,
As the night takes hold,
As god sighs,
As we drown in our filth,
As the human spirit breaks,
As the tears flow,
As faith abandons us,
As the world ends,
I cry a tear of longing,
Longing for the world that once was,
A world which has gone,
Drowned in a sea of money and greed.
