8/25-So today starts my second year at college and the second part of my online journal. Hi again to anyone who reads this. I just got back from a cruise to Cozumel two days ago and I got to Austin yesterday so I'm kind of tired. Anyway, my condo is cool and I like my roommate, hereafter known as Jill, so this year is already better than last. Today, I had Introduction to Mythology at noon. The professor has amazing reviews, but he wasn't there. The TAs gave us about 10 minutes of information and we left. I'm really hoping that class will be good because it didn't start off that great. After that I had a lot of time to kill. I went to Ellen's room. It's nice and big. Then we went and ate lunch with one of her fellow RAs. After that, Ellen went to class and I went and visited Andrew for awhile. I had Social Psychology at 3. I think that class is going to be great. The professor is brand new though, so she doesn't have any reviews yet. Unfortunately the classroom was burning hot, so the first day was kind of miserable. I went home and cooked dinner and Jill and I went and rented a movie. We watched 13 Going on 30. It was cute. For the rest of the night I haven't done much of anything.
8/26- Class started at 11 today. Unfortunately it was Introduction to Accounting. I'm already worried about that class for no other reason than that it is math related. My next class, History, was at 2, so once again I had a lot of time to kill. I ate lunch and spent some time in the Millenium Lab in the business school. I went to History and I think it is going to be great. The professor is wonderful and very interesting. The next class I went to, Government, is not going to be great. The professor looks like she's about 24, yet she has a PHD. The topic of the class is Race and the Media. I find that kind of a strange combination. By far the worst part of the class is the she says "um" every 5 seconds. I counted. It's really, really distracting. I dont' remember anything she said today because all I heard was "um". Anyway, after that I went home, cooked and ate, and then read a chapter in my psychology book. My nana and papa are coming to see me on Sunday. Other than that I don't have anything to do this weekend.
8/27-I had to go to campus today for one class today: Mythology. The professor was there this time and he seems really cool. I'm really going to like that class. After class I ate lunch with Ellen and then helped Andrew with his calculus homework. While I was helping him we got to talking about his classes and what he wanted to major in. I realized that he didn't even need to be in calculus so we went to the computer lab and found out where his advising office was and found another class for him to take. He was very relieved. I don't know yet what his advisor said, but I'm thinking they told him he could drop calculus. I haven't done much else for the rest of the night.
8/28-I went to bed very late last night, but I still got up at 11. I cooked lunch, did the dishes, checked the mail, and took the trash out. Jill was supposed to be home from visiting her boyfriend in San Marcos around 1 or 2 I think. It's 8 and she still isn't back. I wouldn't care except she said she wanted to do something tonight. Oh well. Jessy called to see if I wanted to do something so I said yes since I haven't heard from Jill. I'm not sure what we're going to do but it beats sitting home alone. I talked to my nana today and she said they probably wouldn't be able to come tomorrow. They may come on Friday. I want to go to church tomorrow but I don't have anyone to go with. I found 3 churches that I'm interested in visiting. I'll have to go later I guess.
8/29-Last night Jessy and I ate at Magnolia Cafe and then went to an awesome party, well as far as parties go. I'm not really a partier. They had a DJ and blacklights everywhere. Today I read a lot and then Jill and I went to her friends' dorm to watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. They were all pretty nice. My nana and papa didn't come this weekend. They are planning to come this Saturday though. Tomorrow should be a pretty easy day. All I have is Mythology and Psychology.
8/30-Today was pretty uneventful. I went to class, came home, took a nap, ate dinner, and read. Andrew came over to wash clothes. I guess he hasn't quite adjusted to dorm life yet. I did get to watch The Tonight Show, well the monologue anyway, since the Olympics are over now and it's back on. That's all for now.
8/31-Today was long. I got a headache about 2 hours after I woke up and it's still not gone, despite a good supper, two advil, and a nap. Accounting wasn't too bad today. I actually understood what we did. I don't know how long that will last though. History and government are killer since they are both an hour and a half and they are back to back. I took many pages of notes in each class. It was just a very tiring day.
