Author's Note: This poem
was written just after September 11, 2001... another "day that will live in
infamy." It is actually a song and, when I figure out how to
hook up the microphone to our family's new computer, I hope to put a recording
of it on the website. For now, please enjoy the poem. ~Erin
Lady Liberty, Strong and Tall
Standing Guard, Protecting All.
Lady Liberty, see her Cry.
For so many of her Children all have died.
Lady Liberty, Dry your eyes.
Don't you know some Children were Born to Die?
Lady Liberty, Dry your Tears.
Don't you know that Freedom Conquers Fears?
Lady Liberty, Hold you Head up High.
You know your Children in Vain did not Die.
Lady Liberty, Shed no Tears.
We May have Fallen, but we will not Disappear!
