What is an RPR?

An RPR is a parent of a child with disabilites who has particiapted in a three-day workshop conducted by INSOURCE and has agreed to act as an advocate for parents of children with disabilites in his/her local community.

What do RPRs Do?

RPRs provide support and information to other parents in their local communities and help them resolve school-related problems. Following are examples of ways RPRs assist other parents.

** By providing emotional support to parents by listening to them and sharing experiences in raising a child with a disability.
** By providing information to parents on rights and responsibilites involved in the special education process.
** By attending case conferences or parent/teacher conferences with parents.
** By conducting workshops for parents to inform them about laws, referral, evaluation, case conference, Individualized Education Program (IEP), communication skills, available resources, etc.)
