| Better known as the Shap Pointy Stuff. An athame is a double blades dagger usually constructed with a steel blade and black handle and used only for Non-Cutting ritual purposes. A Bolline is a single edged dagger constructed with a steel blade and white handle, used for cutting herbs. Ritual Knives and Swords are used to cast a circle, open a circle, open and close quarters, cleanse and empower items or command energies. |

| The traditional name for any book containing magickal information pertaining to the craft, created and kept by a practitioner was a Grimiore. Today it is simply, The "Book of Shadows". This book was traditionaly made of a Wood cover and Hand Bound and Written by the practitioner. Now they are decorated according to the Keeper's desires, stored in regular Notebooks or Binders, or kept Online. Some might even keep more than one copy. Even though designs have changed over the centuries, the basic purpose has remained the same. The Book of Shadows will be, and always has been, essentialy a self created textbook for the practitioner. It stores everything he or she has learned over the period of their study - Herbology, Spells, information on Auras, Totems, ect.- and acts as a place to write down information pertaining to spells they have done, their correspondances, and the results of the spell. Essentially, you are reading an Online Book Of Shadows right now. |
| Otherwise known as the Broom. Quite possibly being one of the oldest tools of the practice, the Besom is used for Cleansing an area before Ritual, Releasing Negative energy while bringing in Positive, creating a Sacred Space, and protecting the Home. It can be Hand Made or Store Bought depending on the Practitioner, though Metal Handled Besoms are not reccomended for Magick. |
| The Pot and The Chalice. Exactly what it is, a large Pot often used for cooking, though in Wiccan and Pagan religions it can be used for anything from holding the Ritual Fire, Blessing Water or just as a decorative piece. Most modern witches have both a Cauldron and a Chalice somewhere in their Magickal toolbox for various purposes. |
| The Flame Barer. Used in Magick, Religious Worship, Community Processions and every day House Hold needs, the Candle has more than 500,000 uses World Wide. In the practice they are more commonly used as Element and Goddess/ God representations on altars, to mark the Four Quarters in a Circle, to illuminate the Altar, specifically represent the Fire Element, as a Timing Device for spells, as a Spirit Offering and even to help repel Negativity. |
| In modern day, Bells are used for a variety of purposes. Much like our ancestors, we use them to Banish Negativity, Communicate with the Dead, Prepare Sacred Spaces, Bless Homes, Invoke Dieties, Work Weather Magick and as Fertility Charms. |
| While not important tools, Basketts are very common among practitioners. They can be used to cary things within Circles and hold Altar Decorations, as well as in collecting Herbs, Stones or other natural and Magickal objects, and in Offerings. |
