Witch!
The very word instantly provokes images which vary greatly per individual.
Many of these visions are false, brought by centuries of persecutions, missrepresentation, predjudice and lack of knowledge.

Q: Are Witches Evil?
A: "An ye harm none, do as thy wilt." - the single most important principle in Wiccan or Pagan faith. Meaning that you can do whatever you want in faith as long as it is within the selt laws of practice, state and country, and does not harm another person dirrectly or indirrectly, physically or mentaly, and does not try to obtain or control a person's will.
In  reality, witches have no belief system in "Good" or "evil", but, we do not deny the presence of natural negative energies and manifestations of spirit.. We do not condone nor believe in love spells, or anything of the like that try to harm another person, or alter their own will to suit ourselves, other than in times of extereme and dire emergencies, or if the person is acting to harm us either physically or mentaly. Anyone who does such things and calls themself a witch, wiccan or pagan, is none of the above and often not recognized by us.
Q: Devil Worshiping?
A: Neither Wiccans nor Pagans believe in the Christian Devil. As previously stated, our belief is that to believe in Evil is to give Evil a name, but we do not deny the pressence of natural negative energies and manifestations of spirit.
The common missconception that we worship the devil comes from the appearance of our God, (Great Father, Wise One, Green Man or Hunter Lord.), who commonly appears as a horned man. In most traditions he is often given the name Pan. The fact that he is horned has led to the association of him with the Christian Devil.
In all actuality, in the Pagan and Wiccan beliefs, the Green Man is Loving, Caring and Kind. Like the Goddess being the ultimate mother, providing the crops and waters, He is the ultimate father that protects the land and ensures the natural herds.
Q: What is a Witch?
A: "Witch is often a term used to refere to any practitioner of Paganism or Wicca.
A "Witch" takes total responsibility for their actions, theirself, and their futur. A "Witch" Believes that each person's faith is their own and does not seek covert.
A "witch" is not simply a "Witch" by calling him or herself one. A "Witch" Dedicates herself to her craft and the pursuit of knowledge and higher living within nature.
Q: Black Witch or White Witch?
A: "Black" or "White" referes to "Negative" or "Evil", or "Positive" and "Good". Used in Hollywood to portray "Good Witch" and "Bad Witch" images (Wizard of Oz is a prime example.)
In Paganism and Wicca however, "Black" and "White" witches more ofter referes to Healer and Mystic. Along with these colors, others are asigned to respective paths.
"Colored Witches" often apply when a person excels in a specific area. An example is a "Kitchen Witch", or one who strays towards Herbology or the like. In this example the "Kitchen Witch" is concidered a "Green Witch".

The only real requirements are accepting a primary female deity equal with a male deity, following a Pagan, Wiccan or simmular path, and following the three basic tennants (Reincarnation; Cause and Effect; and Retribution.)
