Dragon Breeds

Many of you have asked of the great breeds of the dragons here are the ones at the moment.
Fire Belly
Firebellies are highly common breeds and few ever have no wings. They are often tall and cat like in body structure. They are a very odd breed and do not always have the long neck of most dragons. They are built for flying and fire. They are known for their yellow bellies which tell them apart from other breeds. They always have the power of flame and when they breathe fire their whole body goes red. They lay around 4 - 7 eggs a year and males take a selection of females. The females have to be impressed first and the most yellow bellied male tends to get more females. To see a picture of one click HERE
Colour Drakes
The coloured drake is the most common of breeds. They can be any colour and often need to learn their powers or earn them. The King himself is a "Gold" colour breed. They are about average dragon hieght and the most common colours are green and red. Like most dragosn they do know how to breathe fire but they cannot hold a flame as long as some fire breeds like the firebelly. These huge dragons are quick to learn and can be either good or bad. They prize knowledge and some males take only one mate like Crescent's father did. They lay around 3 - 19 eggs but have been known to lay 28 in total. Colour dragons breed faster and can have five litters a year. They grow slowly and reach maturaty at 5 years old and live only to 1500. To see a typical colour dragon click HERE
Twilight
A rather unsusaul of breeds, it has a normal western body but only occasionaly has the power of flame. They are excellent flyers and have delicate bodies. Unlike soem breeds they are more agile and can land with perfection. It would normaly be found in a cold area but it varies. The twilight is often very pale in colouration like blue, white, silver, and grey. They are named twilight dragons because they love stars and they breed durign the first hours of light or night. They lay about 4 eggs every six months and are excellent parents and grow up fast. To see a picture click HERE
Frilled
The frilled dragon is a rather large breed that is a very common creature that is able to cool down quickly when it is in hot climates. They are creatures with frills along their backs and collar bones. They can be good parents and prefer livign near the sea where they swim well. Some sailors used to think they were the sea monsters because they had such a slender build they could be thought of a snakes. They come in blues and greens btu many come in yellow. They lay around 8 eggs a year which is a lot of yougn to care for as they spend most of their time fishing. They have short tempers and their frills are useful in spearign fish and spearing trouble makers. To see a picture click HERE
Evergreen
These are the second rarest type of dragon known. They had green or brown scales and almost always no wings. They were very handy at climbign with long bodies and talons for grappling onto wood. Often they would awaite their prey in a tree then pounce and slam it agaisnt trees so it was dead and eat. Their appittie caused their deaths because they would eat a lot of sheep and cattle that got clsoe to trees. The occasional human might also fall victim unless they travelled in groups. The evergreens have 2 - 5 invisible eggs every two years so things stepped on them. Unfortuantley even though they protect their eggs sometimes the young would squabble and the oldest mgith push their yougner siblings off to the ground. But these are superb beasts with the honour to stand up to even the gods when thigns go wrong. They make loyal friends and prefer to work under a leader then be one. They weep when their friends die. Fire and Ice
They are also common and their homes are what give them the diffrent names. A fire will live near hot places and will have an orange glow. They are often seen round hot areas like volcanos and they have they rich colours like red. The fire dragons lay around 7 eggs a year and the males help feed the mother but do not feed the young. They play with their children but chase them off when they reach 2 years old.
The ice is often a bluey colour or in msot cases whtie with blue flecks. They lay around 4 eggs a year. The father and mother provide each other with food and take it turns to heat the eggs. They live in cold places as you can expect. The males do not pester their young when they reach 2 but help teach them more. The females rear the yougn with the male until they are 2 then they concentrate on breedign again and do nto accept their children around the new babies and chase of their daughters unless they have a favourite who helps rear the new babies. Elemental
The elemental is a very odd breed. It has a strange genetic structure that means it takes on a variety of different elements. It can be any elements but can only have one main feature.
If they are more Air they have wings but no front legs and look like winged snakes. The Air has more balance and lays 3 eggs. They do not stick with the same partner and can be any colour but normally yelow is prefered alogn with white.
The Water have no wings and webed feet. They are typical shades of blue and aqua is the msot comon colour. They lay around 5 eggs and when their yougn hatch they teach them to swim. The Water spends a lot of time around damp areas and if they have wigns these can be useful aids or problems.
The Earth have no wings and large hoof like things with mole claws. They live in any climate but cannot climb and do not enjoy water as much. They tend to be brown green or grey with strong legs and good hard heads.
The Fire have the basics but their eyes are blood red. They lay 5 eggs and have typical colours. They are very strong and can withstand high temperatures. They seem like the Fire Dragons but they are not similar in looks. The Fire elemnt has tender paws and long necks and unlike the Fire they come in orange colours and have yellow wings and blue tails so when they fly in packs they lok like a flame. Jewel Lined
Another common breed is the jewel lined. They can vairey in colours but the most amazing thing is that they are lined by jems of their colour. The scales have a jewel look and react to different lights. Often their scales are hard as the actual gems and when they sleep in tunnels often they are picked at by humans wanting treasures. They are very touchy about their scales and pride them. They do not come in brown but come in in colours like Rose Quartz. The lines are their belly scales and their eye shadows which tend to be ridged by actual gemstones. They can mate with any breed and always have wings unless there is breeding with wingless breeds. They lay around 6 eggs every three months and can hold eggs for long periods of time. For example if they breed in autumn to lay in early witner they can carry their eggs for 8 weeks if they need to. The males are very protective and can get highly competative. If the males fight they fight hard and can fight for 5 weeks without stopping. To see a picture click HERE
Headed and Hydra
You may think that they are the same but they are very diffrent. They can look the same and so on but the hydra unlike its cousin in breed cannot seperate and can only mate with one male. They can have up to 30 heads and lay clutches of 5 eggs. The male Hydras are born with two or one head unlikethe females which can have several. Two hydra heads tend to go for a mate for life and noramlly their own breed where as one Hydra heads go for several breeds. The Hydra are very mean and they can kill their over heads then chop it off. They must burn the part where the old head was or it will grow back. The Hydra females can be very cruel and are picky. They can get very friendly when they come into heat and let the male mate but then they mgiht just dump him with the eggs.
The Headed is able to divide but sadly they merge with their mates. The Headed are very sweet breeds and if they do not get mates they join with others that can't. Some Headed dragons can stop themselves merging by breeding with a sibling so they are rejected from joining. The young have several heads but they seperate when they reach 7 until they do find a partner though if they are not the same breeds the mates can choose not to merge sometimes. The Headed dragons are odd because they are feirce and if a male and female join together they can mate quickly. They lay 3 eggs every two years and are the best parents because they can combine their knowledge to share.

Mystics
They are wonderfully colourful and can be called the Typical breed. They are the types people know most about. They often are responsible for stealing maidens to eat them. This of course is false because they don't care if it's a boy or girl. But they are not slain as often as said because they eat more human then any other breed. They can be called Good of Evil. The Good are very beautiful and have small fangs and look like sweet angelic creatures. The Bad ones have large fangs rather like vampires but they are not curved instead they are straight so they can get more meat off. These are vicous they are dark colours and appear evil. Both lay around 4 - 8 eggs and they never show their evilness round young. The children leave their parents at a year old and are welcome to do as they wish though most daughters the father mgith try and keep if he's a Bad dragon. Spotted
The spotted is a pretty but rare thing due to it's wonderful scales that are used by men as sheilds. The dragon is the fourth rarest and is pictured below. This is a nice breed that almost always has the horns on top of it's head. The horns though are poison tipped and can kill quickly. The dragon is very tender with a good gentle nature and they are calm round humans which is why they are rare. They are not as blood thirsty as some breeds and like to stick to a variety of meat and plants. They are normally suited to any climate and like flying. They also have a tendency to be blue or yellow. They can lay eggs but sometimes give birth. The young are looked after till their 4 years old and the parents help them out in any way possible and even fend off other drakes that mgith want their daughters or their sons's harems.
