| Hello All,
We woke up to some awesome news today --- 4th ID captured Saddam. I cant think of a better Christmas present. Along with the Division, the company continues to excel, and it is all the result of your family members hard work. Our quality of life continues to improve. We are all out of tents and in the C-huts now, and we have showers and flush toilets within 100 feet of our living quarters. The Aid Station is being refurbished: some of the open areas now have brick walls, windows once covered with plastic now have Plexiglas, and theres new paint on the walls. All work should be completed by Christmas. As a part of this effort, the Dental and X-ray sections will be able to move out of their expando-vans and into the building. As many of you have heard, the Dining Facility had a huge Thanksgiving spread and we are expecting the same for Christmas and New Years Soldiers are still continuing to rotate home for two weeks of Environmental Leave. Nothing official has been put out for when this program will stop for us, but we expect it to go through January. Of course, as with anything in the Army, this is always subject to change. Although a finalized redeployment timeline has not been published, we are still expecting to return to Fort Hood in mid to late April. Finally, Id like to wish all of you a very Happy Holiday season. As I told the company at Thanksgiving, I have served in a few different units, but this has been the best one yet. Its not because I am commanding it, its because of the people that are in it. Every day the companys accomplishments never cease to amaze me or others in the Battalion. Thank you again for all of your support and Happy Holidays. Jason R. Sepanic CPT, MS Commanding |
