Commitment You must be able to make a time commitment of every Monday, 12:30 to 4:00 p.m., for the entire eight week session.
Parental Agreement ECHO participants are required to sign a Parental Agreement stating that they have read ECHO operations, guidelines, position definitions and duties, and code of conduct pages and agree to abide by them.
Attendance At least one parent from each family is expected to be involved and present at each ECHO weekly session. If that person cannot attend one week due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, he must contact a board member before the day's classes begin. If you have a child attending ECHO with another family, you must contact a board member prior to that day's classes. Teachers must contact their helpers to make substitute teaching arrangements and arrange for delivery of all class materials needed for that day. Note: Please be thoughtful of others in your decision whether to send a sick child to ECHO classes.
Insurance ECHO does not carry any insurance for ECHO participants. Parents are expected to carry their own insurance. Parents will not hold ECHO, First Alliance Church, or any board member, teacher or aid liable in the event of an injury. (See Parent Agreement form.)
Fee There is a $20 non-refundable registration fee per family. This covers administrative costs and also a donation towards utilities and use of First Alliance Church. The registration fee as well as the class fees are due in full at registration. Failure to pay on registration night will result in a $2 fee. Failure to pay before the close of registration (within three days of registration night) will cancel your registration for the session.
Expenses All ECHO expenses must have prior approval by the board for reimbursement.
Nursery If you have a child in the nursery you are required to help in the nursery. If you are teaching, you need to be in the nursery for at least one hour. If you are not teaching, you need to be in the nursery for at least two hours. Be sure to have a complete diaper bag (diapers, wipes, bottle, pacifier, etc.) every week, and have everything clearly labeled with your child's name. Snacks will be provided for all children who are eating table foods. Nursery workers must be faithful to get to the nursery promptly between classes.
Cleaning Cleaning is a vital part of ECHO. We want to leave the rooms looking better than we found them each week. Teachers and helpers are expected to clean their rooms after each hour, with a more thorough cleaning required after the third hour. If there is no cleaning coordinator for the session, parents may be asked to stay for an additional 20-30 minutes once or twice during the session in order to clean common areas that we use.
Prayer During each hour, parents are in prayer for ECHO and the families involved. If you would like to be in the prayer room one hour each week, please note this on your registration form in the appropriate area.
After the Last Class After the last class, older children are to wait quietly in the Main Youth Room. No running or yelling is allowed. Parents, please pick up your children promptly, first from the nursery and then from the youth room.
Snack Based on prior experience, we suggest that you bring a snack for your children (and yourself) to eat on the way home. Please note: Snacks are not permitted to be eaten during class time unless provided by the teacher. |
