1. If a problem arises between two students, two parents, a teacher and a parent, or any other combination of people, please look to Matthew 18:15-17. "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church, and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector." This scripture mandates that we attempt to resolve our conflicts individually and privately. If the conflict cannot be resolved, it should be taken to the appropriate grade coordinator. If it still remains unresolved, it then goes before the board, whose decision will be final.
2. To maximize the benefit of classes for all students, we ask that you teach your children the following class behavior. If a student is disruptive or uncooperative, he may be asked not to return.
a. Participate- do what the teachers says and/or models. b. Listen carefully to directions. c. Do not talk when someone else is talking, especially the teacher. d. Sit unless the teacher tells you to do otherwise. e. Ask permission before going to the restroom. f. Show respect to your teachers and helpers with your actions, attitudes, and words.
3. All students need to bring backpacks to carry supplies. Backpacks should be labeled with name and phone number.
4. Beginning the first day, students should bring in all supplies required for their classes. Parents are responsible to read the appropriate class forms, and provide their children with the necessary supplies for class. Students who do not have the proper supplies may have their class participation restricted.
5. Name tags that are provided should be worn at all times by all participants. For safety reasons, name tags must be worn all eight weeks. This applies to all students and parents.
6. Students need to be dressed appropriately for the classes they will be attending. Sneakers/athletic shoes must be worn by students and adults for gym classes. Parents as well as students need to be careful to dress modestly and follow these rules (inappropriate dress is grounds for dismissal for the rest of the day, at the discretion of the board):
a. Dresses, shorts, and skirts must come down to fingertip length. b. No skin-tight or sheer tops. c. No tank tops, bare-midriff tops, fishnet tops, plunging necklines, or split-side skirts. d. No clothing that advertises by name or symbol illegal or immoral items or acts. 7. Gameboys, mp3 players/iPods or other personal media devices are prohibited and will be confiscated by the teacher and returned to the student's parent at the end of the day.
8. Students are not to use cell phones during ECHO's hours of operation. The use of cell phones by adult participants will be restricted to emergencies only during ECHO's hours of operation. Cell phones must be turned off during class hours.
8. Homework needs to be completed when asked. Parents should help children be responsible to complete assignments and bring them to the next class.
9. Please be respectful of the church facilities. Bring your own supplies such as chalk, crayons, markers, and glue, as we are not permitted to use the church supplies.
10. Parents are financially responsible for any property damage that they themselves or their children cause in or around the church.
11. If you have a special-needs child, please bring this to the attention of the board so that your child's teachers can be notified. This will help insure that your child will get the most out of each ECHO class.
12. All adults are asked to treat all children with respect in their actions, attitudes, and words.
13. There will be no changing/switching of classes after registration closes. All exceptions must have board approval before any movement can occur. Students are to choose classes in their appropriate grade level. |
