| M'Echo @ Triad |
M'Echo is what you get when you take a Judo-Rican chica from Bruklun, Raise her on a steady diet of disco/funk, folk, classical ballet classes, doo-wop, salsa y good ol' fashioned rock & roll... Have her come-of-age* right alongside hip-hop ("the Fat Boys are back...") ... Send her 'round the whirl... And, finally, bring her back wiser, stronger, tougher, softer, and wit a mind to mouf off a signature blend o' rap-oetry to anyone who will listen... ("Shee-i', she'll make you listen!") Part Neneh Cherry, part Jill Scott, part Po'ette, part Raptress, with chunks o' Funk, and layers of tha Real, M'Echo ...has performed at various open mics thru-out NYC. Specifically, The Baggot Inn, Orange Bear, and DownTime. Up-coming Performances: Mon., Feb. 13, 2006, 7pm |

| "Well, that's just one way to look at it. As for Me... I'd rather be sittin' on top of da wall* than just another brick in it. Ey! Isn't that what Don Cornelius says?" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| * "Naw, stupid! That's from Soul Train, and it goes, "Sittin' on top of the whirl, not wall." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| *I was an infant in its infancy... I know the names... Afrika Bambatta, GM Flash & The Furious Five, The Treacherous Four, Curtis Blow, of course Sugar Hill... But I "came up" while it "came-up" with Run DMC, LL Cool J, Jeckyll & Hyde, Doug E. Fresh, UTFO and enough wit da Roxannes already!!! The battles of the "Fly Girls," or "Inspector Gadgets." Dane Dane... 'member him? "Delancy Street." A Salt (with a deadly Pepa), etc... Much props to L-Boogie, whose "Every Ghetto, Every City" basically says it all. |
