One afternoon at a meeting of the Sewing Group, Marilla became tired of the jibes aimed at her for never having had the opportunity to marry. She made up a beau named Duncan McTavish and surprised them all. However, much to Marilla's horror the real Duncan shows up in Avonlea and the fun begins.
