| 13 December -- AAACK! Okay, I should probably just STOP announcing our litter plans until something actually is in the oven and on the way <g>! Ajali will NOT be bred this winter as planned. She has been diagnosed with Corneal Dystrophy. Although this is currently a "Breeder Option" diagnosis, I am not planning on breeding her. And, due to some other issues that have "popped" up, it looks like we are back to our original plan of breeding Zin to Firbi. 2 December -- Puppy news! It looks like we WILL be having puppies this season after all. We will be breeding Ajali to a handsome red/white boy. Ajali is in season, now, so we're anticipating puppies due the middle of February 05 and ready for their new homes end of April! Spring puppies, YEA!!! More information and updates in the whelping box. 14 November -- And another point for Ms. Talon! This time going Winner's Bitch/Best of Opposite under Judge Mr. William Usherwood. This brings Talon's grand total to 10 points, including one major! 13 November -- Talon is still on a roll! She picks up another point going Winner's Bitch/Best of Opposite under Judge Col. Purkhiser. 12 November -- I finally had a chance to sit down and update the rescue page. This page is dedicated specifically to older or special needs basenjis looking for their new homes. These basenjis are available through various rescue organizations across the nation. 10 November -- Already a change in our breeding plans for next year <g>! We have a one time opportunity to use a different boy with an exceptionally clean pedigree for our breeding to Zin, so we're going for it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will have a second season in February (as she's done before). If so, we'll be expecting puppies in the spring of 2005! More information will be added to the whelping box as things progress. 2 November -- We're in the middle of a website overhaul -- changing backgrounds, eliminating clutter and so forth. 24 October -- BIG NEWS!! Talon picks up a 5 POINT MAJOR going Winners Bitch/Best of Opposite over a special under Judge Mr. Douglas Shipley! Woo Hoo!! This makes 8 points so far -- all owner-handled by Talon's mom, Melody. 8 October -- No puppies this year :o( The ultrasound revealed that Kinsey is NOT pregnant. We'll give it a try again next year. In the mean time, we've updated our whelping box with general details on our planned breedings and co-breedings for next year. 5 October -- Well, obviously I've been really bad at keeping this part of the website updated. So, we'll try to get caught up here! * Kinsey has been bred to Ralie. Hopefully puppies will be due November 10. We're going this Friday (10/8) for an ultrasound to hopefully confirm pregnancy. Check back for updates! * We have a second litter tentatively planned for this winter. Updates will be posted in the whelping box once details are finalized! We also have plans posted for our future (2005) litters. *We had a GREAT time at Nationals! Firbi placed 4th in his class in the African Exhibition -- his first ever show. Talon made the cut of 5 bitches in the Open Red Bitch class. Unfortunately, she decided she wanted to leave with the other bitches, and wouldn't stand still <g>. But hey, 5th place out of 20 sure isn't too bad <g>!!! 2 October - Talon goes Winner's Bitch/Best of Opposite for another point under judge Mr. Eugene Blake. 16 May - Talon picks up her second Best of Breed from the classes -- this one over a Top Twenty ranked Specials dog!! Judge Mr. Elliot Weiss. Go Tally go!! 22 February - Talon goes Winner's Bitch/Best of Winners/Best of Breed for her 1st point under Judge Mr. Gary Doerge. Mise was Reserve Winner's Bitch and Cooper was Winner's Dog and Best of Opposite for another point. 24 January - Mise goes Winners Bitch/Best of Opposite for her first point under Breeder/Judge Mrs. Judy Webb. Kinsey was Reserve to her daughter <g>. |
