This sequel to Crystal Warriors (ARIEL) offers beautiful graphics, strategic gameplay, and a detailed story. It is similar to the first game in this series, with the following changes:
Changes:
This game is much more fun than the old one, which was still a very good game and a classic. Each character has his or her own graphics, and is very well detailed with his or her own special way of fighting and special attacks. The game has a sort of Arabian slight to it, which adds to the mood. Also, this game is not as hard as the old game, which was perhaps a little too difficult. The character designs are still cute, and still done by Kugatsuhime, who did the last game's designs, too. The story itself is kind of dark.
All characters have an element. Fire beats Wind; Wind beats Water; Water beats Fire. Earth is neutral, and happens to be the element for your main character and all other spellcasters. Try to use advantageous elements to fight your enemies. Also remember that elements also affect movement rate; i.e. water characters will move fast on water while fire ones will be very slow. To get monsters in your party, you must defeat the monsters using the main character. Once you have done this, the monster will have joined your party (you will hear a chime but there will be no message). Talk to everyone in the towns; sometimes you will receive an item or gain a new character. The inn, as usual, sometimes features a character who wants to talk to you. Hire them, since they don't cost that much, and you have nothing to lose (except for a little money). It looks like the same lady owns the inns in this game, too.
Besides the weapon and spell shops, there are also shops with a question mark on the sign. These shops sell various items, many of which are not sold anywhere else. Some items are overpriced, while others are a good deal. Save at the inn first, and then try and buy everything and see what is being sold. There are secret items here as well. You can buy information very cheaply at certain towns. But I've written most of it here already (with more detail). Spellcasters can upgrade their classes as the game goes on (except for the main character). To do so, you need to find a secret item. These are:
Bishops and Wizards can use better spells than Healers and Magi, but they still remember their old spells. Summoners lose all their magic, but can 'equip' monsters that you have found or hired and release them in battle. Also, some Fighter or Ranger characters have 'tokukou' (special attack) abilities that usually do more damage with less accuracy and take a little bit of HP from the user of the technique. Since there is no such thing as MP in this game, use magic as much as possible. Heal, heal, heal! Remember, if anybody dies, he or she is dead forever! There is no such thing as raising the dead in this game, which makes things a little difficult. Good luck! Unfortunately, there are certain times in the game where you have to fight 'good' characters. It seems that there is no way to avoid having to kill them, so, do what you have to do. Game Classes - Short Description
Your Lord is a good fighter and can also heal and cast other spells. Although elementally neutral (earth), she can be very useful when attacking after casting her Bless spell, especially against other earth enemies, who aren't weak particularly to any element. Healers have very good range with their healing magic, but aren't good fighters at all. Use them to kill enemies who are already weakened, because there aren't any other methods to gain experience. Bishops have improved spells and are very useful in the game. They may be the most important characters - always use them! Magi have good attack magic that have a fairly good range. Wizards have even better attack magic, but the range is shortened. Magi and Wizards are the only characters who can attack at a long range; unfortunately, you can only have a maximum of two of these in the game. Summoners are extremely powerful fighters, but lose their ability to attack from a range. They are useful in killing enemies outright, but as their monsters cannot be healed in battle, their usefulness tends to have a set duration. Their defense and HP are also sub-par, but because their element is earth, at least they aren't strongly affected by any particular element. Game Spells (Cost) - Effect (usable by Lord/Healer/Bishop/Magi/Wizard)
