Lunar: Sanpo Suru Gakuen Character Guide

Welcome to the Lunar: Sanpo Suru Gakuen Character Guide. Be warned that this page is chock full of spoilers, including game screens, and thus, unless you have played this game already, leave this page immediately!. Unless you know for sure that you will never play this game. Ever. Otherwise more than half of the fun that awaits you will never materialize. Ever.

Okay, on we go!

Lena

Lena is very active, strong-willed, and a natural leader. She very much seems to lead the adventures, which probably would not happen without Lena around. Lena is very sensitive about her (lack of) height. She has a natural affinity for healing magic, and also learns a few enchantment and wind spells.

Ellie

Ellie is a girl who tends to worry more than talk. However, she has always been good friends with Lena, and thus follows Lena around, whatever trouble Lena might be searching for. She specializes in fire magic, and learns lightning magic as well. She also learns a healing spell or two later on. Near the end of the game, Ellie becomes quite powerful, but her spells consume a lot of MP.

Anchi

Anchi is always trying to prove to Lena (who belittles him) that he really is strong, and not a weakling with a big mouth like Lena says. However, he always seems to get beat up... He also gives Winn a hard time. Anchi specializes in ice magic.

Senia

Senia is a beast-girl who is very active and like a tomboy, but not quite as strong-willed as Lena. She can be rather masculine in her vocal outbursts. 'Kaminari Musume' Senia specializes in lightning spells, and learns another spell or two as well.

Winn

Winn is a boy with particularly strong magical powers. However, his disposition is marked by a lack of confidence and a quiet demeanor that seems to contradict his actual magical ability. He also finds Lena hopelessly attractive. Winn specializes in ice, water, and wind magic, as well as upper-level magic that the others cannot understand, like teleportation.

Gren

Gren is an inhumanly powerful wizard who has lived for three centuries. His magic has surpassed form and shape, basically eradicating everybody. He is also the old man who invites the girls to the magic school in the beginning. He lives by himself in his own house away from the school.

Steele

Steele is the principal of the magic school Ien. He is also a disciple of Gren's. Steele teaches many useful attack magic spells.

Brown

Brown is one of the administrators of Ien. However, he seems to have little power if any, and does almost nothing of importance throughout the game. He also teaches no magic spells whatsoever. Does he have any power at all?

Elnora

Elnora, like Brown, never shows any magical power or teaches any magical spells. Elnora has the dubious position of being the one to be kidnapped whenever there is a kidnapping. She is very cute, but doesn't seem to be able to get married.

Emma

Emma is a very calm lady who teaches healing spells. Most characters, especially Lena, will find talking to her very useful.

Tereina

Tereina is the music teacher at Ien. She teaches magic spells that affect the heart, or enchantments. Mainly, Lena will find Tereina useful, although her spells don't seem to work all that often.

Iason

Iason is the martial arts teacher at Ien. He also teaches strong attack magic, mostly of the fire type, which Ellie will find useful. Iason is a firm believer in the power of maleness. Because of Lena's and Ellie's achievements, he has declared the two 'true men.'

Ralph

Ralph is a scholar at Ien. He seems to have been a disciple of Gren at one point. Ralf teaches some spells at occasion, including wind magic, from his books.

Brune

Brune is the herbalist at Ien. He doesn't teach any magic at all, but sells various herbs and gives pointers on alchemy (i.e. mixing items).

Dadis

Dadis is the makeup teacher at Ien. He has a terrible memory. He doesn't teach magic at all, even the first spell (?) that he promised to teach, Beni. Beni may simply be lipstick, though.

Aruba

Aruba is the item shop owner at Ien. He doesn't seem to teach any spells. He doesn't seem to do much.

Kuooto

Kuooto is the headmaster at Shell, a magic school for art students. He invites the students of Ien to view an art exhibition.

Henner

Henner is a reclusive art teacher at Shell, but he rarely if ever shows up. He mostly keeps to himself, which is perhaps the reason that he seems out of his mind. He likes to use English words in the middle of his sentences, and often rambles about love and beauty. He is an admirer of Ellie's.

Reheater

Reheater lives in the students' dormitory. He seems to be a teacher of sorts, but he doesn't teach anything. He's fascinated with butterflies.

Haido

Haido is the astrology teacher at Ien... except that he hates people and doesn't teach anybody. He lives by himself in his tower and barely ever shows up.

Stella

Stela is the cook in the students' dormitory. All she does is cook. And talk about cooking. To her, eating a plate of food clean is the mark of a good kid.

Kuhl

Kuhl is one of Anchi's friends (followers?) who follow Anchi around and treat him like a big brother. Kuhl respects Anchi a lot.

Rick

Rick is the other of Anchi's two followers, but Rick seems to worship Anchi more than Kuhl does. Rick is also the weakest of the three.

Reira

Reira is an older student who tends to give a hard time to newcomers. She acts very prim and ladylike, but has a huge afro and is quite prissy. She is often mean and condescending, but later on seems to respect Lena and her group implicitly.

Azu

Azu is Senia's handsome childhood friend. Senia likes Azu, but Azu ignores Senia's feelings.

Menfis

Menfis is a demon who occasionally attacks the inhabitants of Ien. However, Gren's terrible power usually keeps him from succeeding.

Barua

Barua is a demon who works for Menfis, but seems to dislike her lesser position of servitude. Barua also seems to have a thing for young males like Winn.

Dii

Dii is Menfis's flying demon castle. Dii is totally devoted to Menfis.
