This 4-stage action game featuring Doraemon is very well-animated
and well-drawn. The stages are also colorful and varied, leading
Doraemon to adventures in a typical Japanese suburb, a jungle,
the wild west, and finally a futuristic outer space. Doraemon
also can pick up various weapons in the game. However, this game
is too difficult, especially considering that most players will
be younger children, who will probably throw the game down in
frustration after continually being beaten after the 2nd stage or so.
Features of this game:
- Lots of moves - jump, crawl, climb
- 3 different weapons - paralysis gun, energy blast, cape
- 4 stages with 3 sub-stages each
- 4 bosses
- High difficulty level!
Some things to remember while playing the game:
Doraemon will die in only one hit, unless he has a special weapon,
in which case the first hit will cause him to lose the weapon,
and the second hit will kill him.
Each stage has 5 Dorayaki (little bean buns) for Doraemon to find.
If he finds them all, he gains an extra life! Unfortunately, the maximum
number of extra lives is 9. Finding a bell will also result in an automatic
extra life, unless you already have 9.
Suneo appears in the game, saying how beautiful he is, but I'm not sure
what the significance of him is.
After stage 1, it is usually too hard to find all the dorayaki or even
bells. Just try and finish the stages.
Doraemon's paralysis gun only immobilizes monsters for a few seconds.
Use this time to jump on them or avoid them. Doraemon's energy beam (can?)
kills enemies, but cannot be used in the air and not more than one blast
can be onscreen at one time. The cape kills enemies and can be used as often
as one pleases, but there is very limited range.
In the last stage of the game, there are two enemies circling an item.
If you don't get this item, an invincibility item, you will most certainly
die very soon, where a blast of comets flies towards you (though it may
be possible to avoid). Do your best to get this item! Unfortunately it
is very difficult to get. Good luck!
The final boss can be quite evil, but if you know how to beat him,
he is a cinch (even more so than any other boss). When the battle
begins, quickly jump on his arm, which won't hurt you. Stand exactly
in the middle of it, so that his energy balls miss and so that his fiery
breath doesn't touch you. Now, completely safe, just keep jumping on his
head and landing back on his arm. In a couple seconds, he will be dead!
