Seiken Densetsu 3 Classes

In general, the 'light' classes are more necessary than the 'dark' ones. It is a good idea to make sure that at least one character learns to heal, or the game will be more difficult, forcing you to stock up on a large number of items. The 'dark' classes are often very strong, however, and for characters like Hawkeye, Angela, and Riesz, who cannot learn heal magic no matter what, it may be strategically sound to turn them to the darkness. Angela in particular can powerful magic if turned to the dark. However, much shade-based magic is not as useful as the Will o' Wisp-based ones, since enemies tend to be of the dark variety. Light Sabre is particularly useful.

Duran's Classes

Duran is the swordsman. He is very strong and is a good fighter. He often learns weapon enhancement magic, though this depends on what paths the player chooses.

Fighter

The Fighter uses a sword in battle. It is a very good weapon, with long range and good strength. It is great for people who like to stay away from the enemies and whack them, taking time to recover.

Knight

The Knight can equip a shield, and can also learn the ability to heal single party members.

Gladiator

The Gladiator can learn elemental (gnome, jinn, undine, salamander) sabre magic.

Paladin

The powerful Paladin learns to heal the party at once, and learns the Light Sabre spell. He retains his shield.

Lord

The Lord learns new healing spells and upgrades his old one. He retains his shield as well.

Sword Master

The Sword Master learns more weapon enhancing spells, including Moon Sabre and Leaf Sabre.

Duelist

The Duelist can cast Dark Sabre and has the greatest offensive power of Duran's possible classes.

Kevin's Classes

Kevin looks kind of funny, but he is very powerful. His attacks are rapid and powerful, and can easily smush a group of enemies quickly. He has little in the way of abilities, save his ability to transform at night.

Grappler

The Grappler fights with his fists. At night Kevin becomes a powerful werewolf.

Monk

The Monk learns healing spells, in addition to the Wolf's Bane spell that only he learns.

Bashukaa

At night he becomes the 'Black Fang.' He learns no magic.

God Hand

The God Hand is a holy fighter. He can learn the Aura Wave spell.

Warrior Monk

The Warrior Monk learns the Leaf Sabre spell.

Dervish

The Dervish becomes a 'Bloody Wolf' at night.

Death Hand

The Death Hand becomes a 'Wolf Devil' at night.

Hawkeye's Classes

Hawkeye is one of the coolest characters, since he gets a wide variety of abilities, depending on what paths he takes. Whatever path, though, he gets a large array of skills and spells.

Thief

The Thief fights with double daggers, which have high speed but short range.

Ranger

The Ranger can learn to set level 1 traps. He also can learn a few Dryad and Luna spells. Up dexterity to learn the traps and piety to learn Seirei spells (after you learn the traps).

Ninja

The Ninja learns to use Shuriken and the powers of Ninjutsu.

Wanderer

The nature-oriented Wanderer can use almost all spells of Dryad and Luna. Some of them are incredibly powerful; many of them are the most useful in the game. Poison bubble steals some of the enemy's MP while hurting it, giving Hawkeye an unending amount of magic power. He has a great style when he fights.

Rogue

The Rogue learns to use level 2 trap attacks, as well as weapon creation attacks. He is the only character who has both a dark and light attack; his Silver Dart is particularly cool, since it is only 2 MP to cast but does around 500 HP damage on most dark enemies. He also learns to cast the Dryad/Luna spells he already knows on all enemies at once. Grenade bomb is particularly useful, as it gives Hawkeye some of the enemy's MP while also damaging it.

Ninja Master

The Ninja Master has mastered all the Ninja skills and can now use them on multiple enemies.

Night Blade

The Night Blade is a powerful assassin. He has Hawkeye's most powerful special attack, but it looks the worst. He also learns a lot of new (but not all that powerful) skills.

Angela's Classes

Angela is sexy, can use magic, and has purple hair. (Until you change her) Her magic is all attack-based. She is weak physically, I think more so than Charlotte.

Magician

The Magician fights with a staff, and learns to cast attack spells of Salamander, Undine, Jinn, Gnome, Will o' Wisp, and Shade.

Sorceress

The Sorceress learns more spells of greater power.

Delver

The Delver just learns the Dark Force spell.

Grand Devina

The Grand Devina learns to cast her spells that she learned as a Sorceress on groups of enemies and can cast two spells at the same time.

Arch Mage

The Arch Mage uses the spirits to cast magic.

Rune Master

The Rune Master uses status-changing attack magic.

Magus

The Magus can use the magic of the ancients.

Charlotte's Classes

Charlotte is still a child, but can use a great deal of useful magic. If she is turned to light, she will be able to use almost all Will o' Wisp magic. If she is turned to the dark, she will learn to summon monsters. Summoning monsters causes physical damage to single enemies.

Cleric

The Cleric fights with a flail. She can learn healing spells.

Priestess

The Priestess learns to use Will o' Wisp attack magic and Elemental Sabre magic.

Enchantress

The Enchantress learns spells to summon living creatures. She also learns to heal the entire party at once.

Bishop

The Bishop can use almost all Will o' Wisp magic. That's about it, though.

Sage

The Sage can cast elemental enchant spells on the entire party.

Necromancer

The Necromancer can summon undead.

Evil Shaman

The Evil Shaman can summon demons.

Riesz's Classes

Riesz is the cutest member of Seiken Densetsu 3. She learns spells which either raise or lower one's attributes. At her most powerful, she will learn to summon a single powerful monster.

Amazoness

The Amazoness is a powerful fighter who fights with a spear.

Valkyrie

The Valkyrie learns magic that enhances an ally's attributes. This is great for when you are just killing normal enemies, since you don't have to redo it for each new enemy.

Rune Maiden

The Rune Maiden learns magic that decrease an enemy's attributes. This is useful against bosses, since you only have to cast the spell once on them, as opposed to enhancing everyone in your party and redoing it when one is knocked out.

Vanadis

The Vanadis learns to summon a divinity that turns all the enemies to little club-things. It's useless against bosses, though.

Star Lancer

The Star Lancer learns to enhance the abilities of her party at once.

Dragon Master

The Dragon Master grows to have an affinity for dragons; not only does her special attack have a dragon-shaped aura, but she later learns to summon the powerful coiled dragon, Jormungandr.

Fenrir Knight

The Fenrir Knight can summon the Ramian naga, a serpent like humanoid creature. She also learns to cast her 'down' spells on groups of enemies, which is very useful.
