Dear Mr. and Mrs. Staley,

My Background

I am Catherine’s kindergarten teacher and my name is Mrs. Jen Brown.  I have been teaching at Warren Early Childhood Education for two years now.  I have a degree in Early Childhood and Mild Special Education.  With this degree, I am able to teach from birth to 3rd grade and Kindergarten to 12th grade as a Special Education teacher.  I am very delighted to have Catherine in my classroom.  You and Catherine might be experiencing feelings of excitement and hesitation about this kindergarten year.  I hope this letter answers any questions or concerns you might have about kindergarten.

Beliefs of Kindergarten Program

Kindergarten is a very essential year.  The students and I will be learning by interacting with each other during centers, hands-on activities, and discovery opportunities.  I will be teaching your child, but I will also be learning about Catherine while I am teaching.  Catherine will be learning about her numbers from 0 – 10, shapes, how to write words, social skills, and science.

Family Partnerships

You are Catherine’s first teacher and will always be her teacher.  It is very important to me that we want the same things for Catherine.  By working together, we will be benefiting Catherine’s future success.

Encouraging Family Partnerships

These are some of the things that I will be contributing to our partnership for Catherine.

  1. I will provide chances for you to volunteer in the classroom.
  2. I will provide a family night every two months for you to play with Catherine and others.
  3. I will provide amble amount of time for parent conferences.
  4. I will provide opportunities for you to learn about being the best parent you can be for Catherine.
  5. I will provide monthly newsletters.

Always Welcome

My classroom is always open to you and the rest of the parents.  I hope to see you many times throughout the school year.  I am willing to meet with you at any time.  If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year please feel free to call me at school (555-2345) or email me at ([email protected]).

                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                                    Mrs. Jen Brown
