About the Author
I always have trouble writing these things... what am I supposed to tell you that you either don't already know or have no interest in knowing? Perhaps I should do as the essayists reccomend and assume you, the reader, know nothing about me.

My name is Steve and I am 20 years old. I go to Oberlin College, which, for those of you who don't know--no, it's okay, don't get up, you're welcome here--is out in Ohio, about 30 minutes south of Cleveland in good traffic, which means, yes, in the middle of nowhere. I love it there. I'm reading a lot of books, as an English Major is prone to do, and writing a lot, too. As such I've grown to fancy myself something of a writer--both of fiction long and short, and of essays. Before going to college I was something of an artist, but I have let that slip, largely due to the finite number of hours in the day. The summers, when not buried behind textbooks and novels, I teach at the Center for Creative Youth in Connecticut. It rocks.

I have grown to become bookish and, much to my dismay and despite great effort to the absolute contrary, something of a postmodernist. Which is, as we all know, very sad. I prefer to think of myself as a Transcendentalist living in postmodern times but my friends, they tell me otherwise. Or, they try to.

I like very much the following, in no particular order, or, as randomly as free association will allow: Thoreau, comic books, modern literature (mostly John Steinbeck), bonsai plants, the Old English language, folk music, techno, writing, sleeping, eating and the city.

Here on my 'official' site you will find much that reflects my current state of being. There is art, and writing, various and sundry links to sites reflecting my interests--I highly reccomend the Transcendentalist webpage--and a link to my... livejournal *shudder* should you care to read it, though I can't imagine why.

Be well, and enjoy the site.
