FLOOR 2 - THE MEZZANINE
THE BOOKSTORE
Books I have personally read:

Surviving Schizophrenia. E. Fuller Torrey, MD.  4th edition: 2001.

This book is the penultimate layperson's text on schizophrenia.  It includes chapters on statistical information; the inner world of sz; official criteria for diagnosis; conditions confused with sz; onset, course, and prognosis; causes; nonmedication and medication treatments for sz; rehabilitation; surviving; and issues for advocates.  More information is included as well as an extensive bibliography.

Books are an indispensible resource for learning about schizophrenia, but choose carefully.  I recommend books authored by experts in the field that are tailored to laypersons.
