| Crispy Chips Here's an easy way to make chips at home that won't risk burning the house down and will produce better tasting results than conventional deep fat frying. You might doubt this when you read the word 'microwave' but read on and have faith. 1. Wash and peel the chips as normal and cut into normal chip size pieces according to how big you like your chips. 2. Microwave the chips until cooked (steam starts to come off and a knife will slide through the potato). 3. Heat enough oil in a large frying pan so that the bottom is well covered but no deeper than that. (Any oil is fine - I prefer olive oil) 4. Fry the microwaved chips, turning frequently, until crispy and golden on all sides. Simple as that! BACK TO COOKERY INDEX |
