I. What is America?
On September 11, 2001, the world order was realigned, and the image of Contemporary America was redefined, to those who cared to watch.
The Al Keida Terrorist network set itself to harm the �white devil� of America. It was seen as an attack on the forces that for so many years had oppressed Islamic culture and it�s representatives. The enemy of the Arab nations is clearly painted in the minds of those who consider themselves oppressed. He is a tall white man, with blue eyes, a boisterous swagger, a pack of Marlboros in his pocket, eating a McDonald�s cheeseburger with a Coke, and dressed from head to toe in designer wear. He is rich to an obscene level, not caring how he obtained the money, and over everything morally corrupt. He has the faces and names of those banner individuals: presidents, actors, athletes, and soldiers. Al Keida set out to destroy him. He was the target of September 11.
Yet one needs only to look at the death toll statistics from the WTC to see a very different composition of America. Those dead included hundreds of non-high economy workers. The WTC was targeted because it supposedly housed the powerful players of the economic elite in America. While this was true in a way, the WTC was also home to dozens of restaurants, service offices, etc. This means that a great number of the dead were janitors, cooks, dishwashers, waiters, maintenance personnel, and other low-class jobs. This in turn means that many non-whites perished in the attack.
Also one can see the rosters of New York Police department (NYPD) and New York Fire and Rescue personnel (FDNY) that these departments are composed of multi-racial officers, from all types of backgrounds.
I would like to encourage you to research the demographics of the September 11 victims, and reflect on how America is represented in the minds of the terrorists, and how America actually IS in the death tolls.
