| In 1967, the Mustang recieved a few minor changes. The grille was deepened, the tail lights were also deepened. The Mustang also came with in a fast back model. This made the car look more sporty and less like a Sedan. Carold Shelby, the maker of the Shelby Cobra, designed a version of the mustang. The shelby Mustang GT350. It was the same as a Mustang, but the tailights were longer. Usually these cars were painted with racing stripes. This car was extremly fast and was fairly more expensive than a Ford Mustang. |

| The Mustang was starting to grow up. The length and height were increased, 2.7' and.5" respectivily. the wider body allowed for the installation of a smoking, 320 horsepower, 390 cid engines, the first big block engine in the Mustang. Among new options for the 67 were the tilt-away steering wheel, an overhead console, power disc brakes and an all-new transmission, the FMX, which allowed fully automatic or manual shifting. The fast back's roofline was extended to the rear of the trunk. interior trim options were decreased from 34 in 1966 to just 20 in 1967. Production for the 1967 slipped just over 427, 000 units. |
