For some reason I woke up this morning. The hotel room was gorgeous. Dini Petty puts all the guests in The Royal York in downtown Toronto... pretty fantastic. I woke up in time to turn on the TV and catch Dini Petty. It was the show that I taped yesterday. There's something weird about watching yourself on Dini Petty while lying in bed at The Royal York... It's kind of weird when that happens.
I went out and met my buddy Sean Greenson. He used to live in Ottawa but he moved. We went and ate breakfast at The Pickle Barrel on Younge Street.... Then we hung out at The Worlds Largest Bookstore for a little while. I asked a sales clerk for the code to the in store PA system. For some reason the confused clerk gave me the code, which was bizarre. I muttered a little song about sandwiches over the PA. Some people were confused, others didn't care.
I jumped in a taxi and said bye bye to Sean.
It cost me $33.00 to get to the airport. I got there early again and jumped on the 3:00 flight... I was scheduled to leave at 4:00. When I got back to Ottawa I started thinking about my car tire. See as I told you yesterday, I have a slow leak. I doubted it would be flat though, I mean I had only been gone for about 36 hours. As I walked through the parking lot towards my car I held my breathe. I made a bet with myself that the tire would be all right. I lost that bet.
Fuck! I am so friggin tired and all I want to do is go home and sleep and the God damned tire is totally flat. I went in to the car rental places in the airport. See I couldn't get my spare out of the trunk because the lock on my trunk is broken. I haven't opened my trunk in over six months. Luckily, Budget Rent a car had a compressed air tank that they carried out to my car and filled my tire with. They didn't have to do that but they did. I think it would be funny if a whole bunch of people called the Ottawa airport Budget car rental place and thanked them for being so nice. It would be funny to have hundreds of people from all across Canada calling to say... "You are nice because you lend air pumps to people.... thank you." Budget is nice... Rent from Budget.
So I drove straight to the garage and got my tire replaced with a new one. It cost $80.00. My car was also diagnosed with about $1000.00 worth of necessary repairs. I need a new muffler, exhaust pipe, bearings, block heater, and I have an oil leak. My car is about to die. I love my car and it is going to die. Good-bye car... Goodbye little car....
See ya tomorrow
Tom
