Welcome to EBCC Delhi

 

The Good Tidings reached the beautiful hills of Southern Manipur in 1910 AD, enlightening the people who lived in darkness and ignorance. By the year 1948, the Evangelical Baptist Convention Church was established, having its headquarters at Lamka, Churachandpur, Manipur, India. It celebrated the Golden Jubilee of its ministries in 1998. The EBC is a proud member of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA). In spite of its small and humble beginning, the Lord has been blessing the Church tremendously in all aspects - spiritually, numerically and financially.

 

Today, the younger generation of EBC members have spread out to various towns and cities of India in search of education and better means of livelihood so as to ameliorate their economic condition and break the stranglehold of poverty and deprivation. In 1992, a small group of EBC members residing in Delhi started a House Worship Service. This grew rapidly into a full local church, and was recognized by EBC Headquarters in 1993. Delhi Local Church, from its inception, experienced God's marvelous blessings in all aspects of its life. By the year 1998 the Church membership grew to 500, worshipping at Green Park Free Church on Sunday at 1.00 pm. God gave this humble church a plot of land for construction of Church Building through the Delhi Development Authority at Pocket 6, Plot No. 16, Nasirpur, Dwarka Phase-I, New Delhi. By God's grace, the church membership has grown up to 750 in the year 2003.

 

Activities and Projects : Most of the Church members are government employees, College and Universities students. Therefore, we have limited time to preach the Gospel. However, sometimes the Church goes to outreach Ministries like distribution of Gospel tracks, showing Gospel Drama/skits to slum dwellers, prison visits, etc.

 

Partnership in Missions : The Church's main tasks are propagation of the Gospel of Christ in and around Delhi. It is interested in partnership and ever ready to give full co-operation to any like-minded believers for the extension of God's Kingdom. There are many youths who are waiting for sponsorship to go out to the un-reached fields of Asia. In EBC, we have the manpower, but resource is lacking at present. Please pray the Lord of harvest will enable this giant task to be achieved.
