~~The Splinter~~ Have you gazed upon a winter's pond Softly frozen only at its surface.. So fragile yet to the touch.. vulnerable to harm..as it sets its course. From the gentlest touch..tiny cracks appear..in cobweb patterns... releasing tears from its waters below. Such is the heart that bears the tiniest of hurts... each crack a scar that is never to heal.. but forgives..for the sake of love... Never forsaking..no matter what...... Always quick to justify and overlook... Accepting the moods..and broken promises... Not wanting to believe your trust could be so battered Or that your own blindness helped fuel such pain.. Suddenly.. a heavy foot sets upon the weakened ice... Yet...what could have been agony..from a stake in your heart.. is but ~~the splinter~~ One last fragment that will ease it's way out.. little by little.
