| The Ski Run Fire began the night of October 27th and burned approximately 250 acres of forest northwest of Ruidoso. It was my first fire as a volunteer firefighter and I admit that I was a little concerned as I drove up the winding mountain road, brands falling into the canyon below me, toward what looked to be a little piece of hell on earth. |
