Chapter 1

It was early morning in the Kingdom of Raca, which actually covers the entire planet of Ramie. The King Ne’Mod was sitting on his throne waiting for his daily briefings from his advisors. At his side are his twin elf blades Frost and Flame. In addition to being the King he is also the Knight to the throne. This is the first time in a thousand years that the Knight and King were one person the last person who held that title was the legend Samej. Ne’Mod became the King and Knight when his father Tolp Netchinam and his Knight Naulcer were both killed doing battle with a giant dragon, they killed the dragon and protected the Kingdom from horrific damage but at a great price. So Ne’Mod Netchinam was given the throne and the title of Knight at the young age of 18.
“Sir?” Syrus ask.
“Yes, Syrus?” Ne’Mod replies.
“I was just wondering if you have the same feeling about today as I do?”
“And what feeling is that?”
“That it has been far to quiet of late.”
“Yes it has but they maybe a good thing.”
“Or it may not be sir.”
“That is also true.” As if on cue Ne’Mod’s other advisor Sial runs into the room in a panic.
“Sir we are under attack.” Sial proclaims.
“Who are we under attack by?”
“One of the most terrible things to be under attack by.”
“And that would be?”
“The gnomes.’

Chapter 2

“The gnomes? Surely you jest?”
“Hardly sir, as we all know most of the gnomes realize that they are too small to be a threat to us, but there is one renegade band of gnomes led by a runt, even by gnome standards, named Ryral.”
“And I take it that is the group that is attacking us now?”
“Precisely sir, but not to worry even with their bow and arrows the most they are doing is giving the outer walls a most severe scraping, that is it.”
“Good, Sial when the battle is over bring this Ryral to me so that I may talk to him.”
“Of course sir.” And with that Sial leaves so that she may go retrieve Ryral once the battle has commenced. Meanwhile outside the battle is winding down with the gnomes being repelled quite easily. The gnomes attack viciously but it is a futile effort. All but one of the gnomes is driven off when the castle guard launches a volley of arrows at them. The only gnome that sticks around until the end of the battle is Ryral. Ryral is immediately captured after the battle by Sial, and put into a rather large birdcage so that he can be taken to the king. Gnomes happen to be for the most part between one foot and two feet tall. Ryral on the other hand is a mere ten inches, hence why he is considered a runt.
“Here he is sir, the gnome that led the attack,” Sial says.
“Thank you Sial, please send Syrus to me,” Ne’Mod says. With that said Sial leaves the room and leaves Ne’Mod alone with Ryral. “What did you think you were going to accomplish by attacking my castle?”
“What did I think I was going to accomplish? I thought that we would defeat you and I would be the new king. Obviously it was an understatement on my part, and understatement that shall not be made twice. You can mark my word that the next time we attack you we will be prepared,” Ryral says.
“Oh really? And what is to stop me from just killing you now?”
“Surely you wouldn’t kill someone? A person of your stature committing murder?”
“Oh, but it wouldn’t be murder it would be self defense, remember you did attack me, or rather my castle.”
“True, but we were just trying to take back what is ours. Since the dawn of time the gnomes have been the most dominant race in all of Raca.”
“Really? Where did you hear that?”
“Yes really. I learned it when I was younger from my teachers, it was the betrayal of our human pets that led to the gnomes downfall.”
“Quite an interesting take on history there, since when I was young I was taught that the gnomes have always just been little annoyances that make their money from repairing human’s footwear.”
“Untrue sir, it was your ancestors that betrayed us and spread these vicious rumors.”
“Then how is it that all the other races of Raca have the same knowledge that I do, all the races except for the gnomes that is?”
“I don’t know perhaps it is a conspiracy against the gnomes, because we were too powerful.”
“More likely I think it is that you choose not to remember things as they happen, but choose to remember them as you wish they had happened instead.”
“I don’t think so you piece of…” With that statement being said Ne’Mod calmly picks up the birdcage and throws it up into the air and then catches it.
“Are you ready to leave peacefully?”
“Bite me you royal jack---“. Ne’Mod once again picks up the cage and hurls it into the air, then again and again for about 2 minutes.
“How about now?”
“Yes…my king I shall leave peacefully.” At the exact moment that statement is out of Ryral’s mouth Syrus walks in.
“You sent for me King?” Syrus says.
“How many times do I have to tell you just call me Ne’Mod. I wish you to remove him from my site, send him away.”
“As you wish my…Ne’Mod.” Syrus then starts a complex movement of his hands and at the conclusion of it the cage that previously held Ryral is empty.
“Where did you send him Syrus?”
“Back to where he came from to the forest of Weaving. He won’t be any bother to us anymore Ne’Mod. You do remember that today is the day that you meet with Vyle?”
“Of course how could I forget my meeting with Vyle.” Vyle is the priest of the Raven sect of the Zebtruzzi. The Zebtruzzi is a religion started by Asil Buztrize that worships different animals, be they mythological or not. There are 9 sects in all with varying methods and beliefs; some walk the right side of the path, while others clearly are on the other side.
“He should be here momentarily sir. Also don’t forget that Sasta is supposed to arrive around 11 this morning, which is in roughly 1 hour.”
“Thank you Syrus I nearly forgot that Sasta was showing up here, I hope my meeting with Vyle is over long before she gets here.” Sial then walks into the room.
“Sir Vyle is here and waiting in the library for you,” Sial says.
“Thank you Sial I shall go join him at once.” Ne’Mod then walks to the library where he meets Vyle. Vyle is about 6 feet tall with red dreadlocks and a red goatee. He is wearing a black cloak with a red circle on the back inside the circle is a red outline of a raven. It denotes that he is the priest of the Raven.
“Greetings to you my king,” Vyle says.
“A good morning to you Vyle.” Ne’Mod says.
“What made you request my presence here this morning Ne’Mod?”
“I wanted to meet with a priest or priest from the Zebtruzzi to find out if there is anyone that we can sign a peace treaty.”
“Well I’m afraid that I shall be of little help then since I only speak for myself and not for the other priests. As for the possibility of a peace treaty with you dealing with only my sect it would have to be beneficial to me.”
“Of course, I have no intention of a one-sided treaty with anyone. What is that you would desire out of a treaty?”
“The one thing that I truly want in this world that I don’t have is power. The power of ruling men, and having people at my beck and call is what I want. I want to rule.”
“I’m afraid then that I can’t help you, since what described sounds like you want my title.”
“Exactly my king.” Vyle then gets up and walks to the door, just as he is about to go through the door Ne’Mod’s girlfriend Sasta comes through the door. “Why hello Sasta so good to see you again.”
“I am unable to the same about you Vyle. Good day.” Vyle then leaves Ne’Mod and Sasta alone.
“How do you know Vyle?”
“Are you sure you really want to know?”
“Of course I really want to know.”
“Remember you asked.” Sasta who is a lovely buxom blond girl wearing a black robe over a cloak, removes her robe. Under the robe the cloak is revealed and it a white cloak with a black circle on the back with the outline of a howling wolf in it.
“Is that real?”
“Yes Ne’Mod it is.”
“How long?”
“Since before I met you Ne’Mod, I have been the priestess of the wolf for several years.”
“I see and why didn’t you tell me before?”
“I knew how much it would bother you, and I wanted you to get to know me better before you learned what I am.”
“Did you think it would honestly change how I feel about you?”
“I don’t know, maybe. Does it?”
“No it doesn’t Sasta I still love you as much now as I did before.” Ne’Mod and Sasta then embrace in the middle of the room. Ne’Mod thinks to himself oh lord what have I gotten myself into now.

Chapter 3

The rest of the day passes uneventfully for the king except for the crucifixion. It seems a local man named Jesus Christ was crucified for his supposed crimes by a man name Pilote. The king passed his day in his study doing research about the other races that in habit his kingdom, trying not to dwell too much on the revelations that the day has brought. It was not a successful endeavor; he couldn’t get what he learned out of his mind. He knows that Sasta’s sect has never actually done anything too drastic mainly just petty pranks, which fits with Sasta’s personality. He goes to bed that night still contemplating what he learned during the day, and before he drifted away for the night he thought to himself I hope that tomorrow is less eventful then today. The night blissfully is dreamless. When he awakes he is immediately met by Syrus.
“Sir today is the day you meet with all of your advisors to discuss the condition of the kingdom,” Syrus says.
“Thank you Syrus I shall be along shortly,” Ne’Mod says.
