rubbish has confirmed a show Sat Sept 29th at the Perth Battle of the Bands at St. John HS in Perth, ON. Doors open at 2pm and the show runs until 11pm. Sets are 45 minutes in length, and rubbish plays at 9:30pm. Also on the bill are Ryan's side project factor eight, Junkyard Symphony, Hungary Monkey, Violation117, Popular By Association, Uncapable, Passenger of Trial, Distant Society, and Rival Currents. Tickets are $3 and are available through Mandy at 1-613-267-3435.

In other show updates, rubbish will be playing the John McCrae coffehouse in early October, and the Clash of the Titans Mother Teresa Battle of the Bands in early November. Dates, times, and info to come later!

rubbish wishes to thank everyone in attendence at the World's Largest Hug Frosh Week Event on Parliament Hill. rubbish took the stage at 3 30 for half an hour as 1700 froshers from Ottawa and Carelton University looked on. XFM DJs Mauler and Rush were on hand, as well as RogersTV media. Look for the show to be broadcasted on Rogers (channels 22 and 23 in Ottawa) over the next week.

rubbish has been selected as the first band for an upcoming Ottawa Highschool Bands compilation being put on by Superstar Records. Recording at the end of Sept at the Superstar Records Studio, rubbish will have a new track completed at the end of Oct. No info regarding which track has been chosen yet has been released but you're welcome to voice your opinion in the new rubbish forum at the yahoo rubbish club here http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/localrubbish (for joining info check out the news section of the site on Aug 31st!). Extensive shows at all 52 highschools in Ottawa will occur in about March to help promote the cd.

rubbish has also given their material to 3 compilations for usage. Confirmations will come as they happen!

Finally, in unrelated rubbish news, Ryan's side project factor eight has finally launched their official site. Recently reaching #2 in Ottawa music on mp3.com factor eight features the vocal talents of Becky Abbott and the energetic songs by the remaining members of Afterburn.
