I have issuse with Americans that falsly throw up the race card to get out of a bind.This type of strategy is now more prevalant than ever before. Why is that? Because it is convenient, and has become the "untouchable" subject .
A perfect example of the race card game goes like this:
Nowadays you see some Americans embracing the "thuggish image", and then wondering why a storeowner or other individual(s) doesn't want them hanging, or creeping around their establishment. Race cards proceed to fly all over the place. Folks, this is not racism. If you want to embrace the thuggish look, then be prepared to be treated as a thug!
Thats not to say that racism doesnt exist on both sides though.. Nevertheless, and like it or not, the race cards being thrown at Caucasion Americans nowadays, are copious to say the least . Why? Because as a Caucasion American I am expected to indefinitly accept hatred, and racial attitudes in a civil manner, as though I magically deserve it , and all the while racist groups such as the NAACP are extracting every bit of profit that can be gained through playing these race games. It is now time that White and Black America matures together. As human beings we do not mature out of behaviours when they are swept underneath the carpet. Just the same, America will never mature out of these racial issues as long as African Americans play the victim-role, and Caucasions take the route of bitter tolerance.
A good example of this is Affirmative Action, with the rationale that goes something like this: We cannot get beyond racism, without being racist.
I see reparation attempts as greed, and personal hatred for individuals that have been long dead now. Like it or not, to be accepted into any group in the world, you do so by conforming to the group. Racism will end when we can debate racial issues without the fear of being publically, and permanantly denounced as a racist. It will end when we use the same standard for all races, for all endeavors,and we can expect those standards without fear of being called a racist.
I believe that by stepping out of the victim role now, it will in turn help individual Americans, and America as a whole, to function more productively, and in turn greatly enhance the individual lives of those that choose to do so .
