GROSSE POINTE PADDLE LADDER   2008-2009

Players must be a member of CCD, Little Club, Yacht Club, Lochmoor or Hunt Club.

1.    It is the player's responsibility to check the website (http://www.geocities.com/eastsidepaddle/) for ranking,  court, and place of play.  Inclement weather decisions will be posted on the website by 8 A.M. the day of play. If a court is unplayable, players should reschedule or agree to retain current positions. (i.e. Top moves up and Bottom moves down.)

2.    The highest ranking player on the COURTS at the beginning of play is responsible to:

3.    The highest ranking player on the COURT at the beginning of play is responsible to:

4.   Each player plays one set with each other in sequential order.

5.  The number of sets won determines the rankings after the match.  If there is a tie in sets, the player with the least number of games lost is ranked higher.  If there is a tie at this point, the player with the higher ranking before the match, retains the advantage.  For the next week's ranking, #1 (the winner of the court) will move up a court, #2 and #3 will remain on the same court and #4 will move down a court.

6.  Players may split (declared at beginning of the season).  The split players will move up and down according to the results of the match.

7.  Players must send a sub when they are unable to play.  The results of the permanent player's sub on completion of the match will determine the permanent players ranking for the next match.  This ranking could be #2 , #3 or #4, but never #1.  Subs may never move the permanent player up a court.

Splits may substitute if available to play.  In the event, the split is playing on the same court where a sub is playing for her, the split must play for herself.

If there are four substitutes on one court, regular player ranking rules shall apply.

8.  Any player defaulting during a match must move down and the other three players move according to the score at the time of the default.

9. If a player or her sub is more than ten minutes late, she will be penalized three games.

10. If a player or her sub fails to appear for a match, she will automatically move down. The highest ranked player will move up and the remaining two players will remain on the respective court.  If a player or her sub misses three matches, she will be removed from the ladder.

11. If a player resigns from the ladder, the person at the top of the waiting list will replace that player by entering at the half-way point (20/40) unless the entering player is rated for a lower point on the ladder.
