| Urban Goose Project - A Bunch Of Demos | ||||||
| Aww, look at Sam, he's so pretty, with his accoustic rock and his accoustic roll. Sam is a generally rad guy who's lyrics are very emotastic, which makes them catchy and generally really really good. Wether he's telling a tale about a girl that he likes and who doesn't like him in return, or if it's a tale of a great love that he had in grade seven, it's really good. Now Sam does most of the recordings on his own (or maybe even all) but he is not the only one who deserves credit. Although he writes all the lyrics and most of the main riffs, his good buddy Nick (who is just as good lookin') plays along with Sam "The Goose" at his shows. And the beautiful back up vocals go to the lovely Janine, or is it the lovely Ahinta? Well they keep changing. Like I said, the lyrics on this are just so freaking amazing that Sam officialy rocks my socks off (accoustically). Some of the songs are so pretty, while others are not exactly on the pretty side, more on the accoustic anger side, (accoustic death metal anyone?). Take "Waking Up" for instance; "Nothing is ever the same when you're waking up, and feeling this way. Nothing is ever the same, when you are here, and all my troubles go away. Just lying here, is all that I could ever want. Watching kid movies that make you want to cry." Now that is quite possibly the sweetest thing that I have ever heard, accoustically. If you like accoustic anger, then you may like "Bets Off", or one that is not available on this album that Reg, Adrienne, Suzanne and I like to call, "The Car Crash Song". So accoustically, Sam's cd is one of my favourites, and is constantly in my discman as I slump through the hallways looking all sad, emo-y, and accoustic. This is the best thing that I have ever heard accoustically, and deserves to be heard. If you would like to hear more of Sam's accoustic emo, you can check out his website (look at the links page, cause I am far too lazy to write it here), or you can talk to him at school and see if he has any copies of his accoustic demos left for sale (Only 3$!!! What a DEAL!!!) accoustically. So if you like accoustics and sad vocals, this is an accoustic cd for you. Oh and don't be fooled by the low quality accoustic sound, he recorded it by himself in his room with his accoustic guitar on his low-grade 4-track recorder accoustically. Have I said accoustic enough in this? Did i express the fact strong enough that this cd is in fact very accoustic? But I give it a 5/5, accoustically. |
